The Educational System of the USA and Pakistan
Education is considered a fundamental part of a person's life. Without knowledge, nobody can make remarkable progress in life. Education is also considered necessary for a nation's prosperity. To make prosperity certain, every country has developed their educational systems according to its respective laws and cultures. Educational systems are different in different countries. I realized this when I moved to the USA from my country Pakistan and continued my studies in the US. The education system in the US is different from the education system in Pakistan in many ways, but they share some similarities, too. The educational system of the US and my homeland is the same in the way they share the same language for education, but the US system is preferable because it has up-to-date and revised course books for its students and it has an advanced system of education.
The most important difference between US and Pakistan's education system is the advanced use of technology. the USA is using technology just not for entertaining its residents but also, for educating its students. Knowing the interest of the new generation in technology, and being very smart, the US has made education very easy for students by using online techniques. Like, as the use of Microsoft Office for making assignments, presentations and projects. It is very convenient for students to type their work anywhere at any time rather than writing on paper by sticking to a place for hours. I had never heard about the canvas before. I first heard about and used it while studying in the US and I found it very convenient.
In contrast, Pakistan's education system is not so advanced. It hasn't used this much technology for educating its students. Many students who are not living in a developed city don't even know about Microsoft Office. They still use traditional paper and pencils for completing their assignments and projects. They didn't even hear about the use of canvas for education. Being an under-developed country, Pakistan is trying to make progress in education.
The second notable difference between US and Pakistan's education systems is the use of revised and up-to-date books and knowledge. The USA has the latest books related to the courses. It has maintained the knowledge in its books with the new and advanced studies related to every field. I have noticed that every breakthrough in science and technology is part of its education. However, in Pakistan the knowledge in course books is old. They haven't revised the books for the past 8 years. The only way of knowing a new advancement in science or technology for students is through the internet. The schools and colleges will provide tiny information about the advancement but it wouldn't be the part of the course.
The major similarity I have found between the two systems is the same language for education. Pakistan even being under-developed, still trying to make its education system better. The first step it took was the changing of course book's language. Like the US, in Pakistan from kindergarten to the MS level, every single book is in English (except Urdu). The US education system has also its books in the English language. This was a plus point for me because I didn't have to study in a different language.
In sum, the US education system is better and more advanced than the education system in Pakistan. Even after sharing the same language for education, US education is still the best choice as it has made technology part of its education and has kept its students more up-to-date by using revised course books. Pakistan's education system is not very good and advanced like the US, but it is still trying to attain its best. US education system is a preference of every student, in my opinion, because it has maintained its high ranks in giving quality education to its students. As I mentioned before, education is most important for succeeding in life, US education is my best choice because I want to be a successful person in my life.
