This is the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G. Those phones were considered great value for money, so what's changed this time around? The Samsung Galaxy A53 5G is a new midrange phone that appears to be very similar to what we already have. And the camera bump that blends into the matte back panel, which is plastic. The A53 was able to score a 113-hour endurance rating in our battery life tests. That's quite solid, but the same as last year's model. Which is an upgrade over the Snapdragon 750G inside the Galaxy A52 5G. The thing is, though, if you compare the benchmark scores to the Galaxy A52s' The high refresh rate smooths out your swiping and scrolling. There is one change on the screen compared to the A52s: while that model had HDR10 plus support, This panel is quite nice quality-wise, with deep OLED blacks, and color accuracy is great. The final notable change you'll find here is the camera quality. The game play is the same as before, but because of the new chipset, the processing has changed a bit. The cameras include a 64MP main cam, a 12MP ultrawide unit, The 16MP photos from the main camera are decent, with a good amount of detail, It has low noise and a wide dynamic range for a midrange. Contrast and colors are a bit too strong here, while the A52s 5G had a more natural look. Portraits come out at 12MP, and they look great. Shots from the ultrawide camera are alright, but nothing special. They are rather soft, but at least the colors look much more natural than on the main camera. On the other hand, that means that consistency across the two cameras is not great. The 5MP macro camera can produce nice close-up shots that are colorful and have plenty of detail. In low light, the main camera is competent, producing shots in part because of automatic night mode processing, which is activated based on lighting conditions. There's also a dedicated night mode that you can toggle. Low-light shots from the ultrawide camera are quite messy-The, dedicated night mode, doesn't, seem to help much either. For selfies, the A53 5G has a 32MP front-facing camera that outputs photos at 12MP. Overall, the quality is solid, with plenty of detail and decently low noise. The A53 can shoot video with all of its cameras at up to 4K resolution at 30FPS. The main camera has plenty of detail, low noise, and a reasonably wide dynamic range. Like in the still photos, the colors came out quite saturated here. The ultrawide camera's, videos are decent in quality. Also, the color rendition here is noticeably different. It does a decent job of smoothing things out and handles pans well. Overall, the camera quality is decent here on the A53 5G. However, compared to the A52s, it's, a bit of a downgrade. And the photo and video quality of the ultrawide camera has taken a dip.
