It's a well-known fact, needles can be intimidating for many young children getting COVID-19 vaccine around the world.
NHS England has lined up various events across the country in an effort to get 12 to 15-year-olds jabbed during the half-term break

Due to this fear, many kids often throw fits, cry, or try to run away from centers at the time of vaccination. A little encouragement and reassuring words from parent and nurse can help a child in feeling comfortable before a jab. But there are other creative and fun way of keeping things calm.
One of those ways has recently been adopted by National Health Service (NHS) in a bid to keep kids calm at the time of vaccination.
The NHS has lined up a petting zoo full of sheep and a stake park to get children vaccinated.
They will not be giving away the ruminant mammals to the children getting the jabs. The plan is to keep them around to maintain a calm environment during vaccine.
Shetland sheep – called Lashes, Cumin, Coriander, Clove, and Cardamom - have already greeted a bunch of children who got jabbed at Nest College in Epsom during the weekend, according to reports.
A 14-year-old girl, who was scared of needles, said the sheep had a 'calming effect' while getting the jab. So proud of her, the sheep were a nice surprise, especially as she was nervous, said Same Ali's mother.
Like the Same, there were several other children who were nervous at first about the jabs, but felt better after spending time with the animals.
Following the successful execution of the initiative, an NHS nurse said their idea was to make children comfortable, so they can come back without feeling anxious or fearful.

Balloons, face painting and activities laid will be on offer for children at the Community Center in south-east London.
As many as 7,70,000 vaccination appointments for children have already been made after the rollout of the sheep plan.
