What really hurts is the management of pain.

Pain can be defined quite simply as a symptom of a physical injury or disorder, pain or emotional distress. Mild pain can be treated in a number of ways... Over the counter medicines and balms. But what if the pain is chronic and unbearable. Well. We get prescription medicines. Most medications work well, but for some people with severe or chronic pain, NLP and hypnosis work wonders.

What is NLP? This is neurolinguistic, programming. NLP uses a set of models and theories to describe the relationship between mind and language. Although there was initially skepticism about treating pain with hypnosis, the medical community is now of the opinion that hypnosis actually helps to control pain.

Acute pain lasts for a short time. While chronic pain lasts longer, usually more than a month. Even mild. Low-level pain can be debilitating. Pain comes in many forms, jabbing, throbbing, stubbing, sagging etc. Pain is also influenced by various factors such as memory, emotions and the physical condition of each individual. A more pressing complication is that sometimes the pain has no organic cause.

Pain is sometimes described as pain remembered in the past, pain experienced in the present, and pain anticipated in the future. The combination of these three often gives us the meaning of pain and is one reason why chronic pain is almost always so debilitating. What increases the pain is the expectation that the pain will occur the next day, and the day after and the day after, and so on.

Below are some techniques that can help us deal with pain:

Trance and relaxation are the easiest things anyone can do to relax. The way to relax is simple. All you have to do is tell yourself in a deep and gentle tone to take a deep breath and relax. You should relax more with each breath. Tell yourself that as you count down from 5 to 1 you will rest until you are in a trance.

Synesthesia is a technique that is best done in a light trance. In this technique. You explore pain as a sensation. What exactly is pain? Where is it, is it slow or fast moving pain? Does it have any color and texture? How does it go? It may sound difficult; but don't worry. The important thing is to try and give some meaning to your pain, shape it so that it makes some sense to your unconscious mind. What you need to do next is to consider whether the pain is outside your body, where it is easy to see. Try and look at it a little further away from you and about two meters away. What you can do now is to change the quality of the pain. Make it smaller or bigger, or change the color and sound. Change the way you walk. Now look at what happens when you bring about a change in pain. When you are finally satisfied with the changes you have made to your pain, you can send the entire pain away; or you can even put it back in your body, but in a different location where the pain may be more manageable; Or even better, you can simply turn your pain upside down and put it back in place so that it cancels out the original pain.

Boost your energy

Pain can be very debilitating and takes away our energy. But we can overcome this by practicing some very simple visualization exercises. Bring yourself to the point of complete relaxation and focus on your breathing. Imagine a golden ball of light surrounding your body,

Which you can hear, as well as feel the vibration. Then imagine that you are taking in energy when you breathe. The golden light has now become brighter and brighter, the harmony has intensified; and the vibrations have become stronger and stronger. As you exhale, imagine that all the tension and pain has gone away from your body. Now the vibrations and harmonies become a tool to help you relax more; and you can feel the sensations massaging your body. With the help of the techniques mentioned above, you can help yourself to control your pain. But remember, they are not hypnosis or NLP techniques.
