Where did the Indus Valley Civilization develop?
Almost many cultures, civilizations and cities of the world have developed on the banks of rivers. Just as the Egyptian civilization flourished on the banks of the Nile, in the same way the Indus Valley civilization also grew on the banks of the Indus River. At present, the origin of the Indus River is China. The Indus river originating from China flows through India towards Pakistan.
Let us tell you that the Indus Valley civilization was more advanced than many developed civilizations of the world like Mesopotamian civilization, Egyptian civilization and Chinese civilization etc. 3500- 1700 BC Till date the Indus Valley Civilization was one of the oldest and most developed civilization in the world.
The development of this civilization was spread over a large area in the western part of South Asia, that is, the western part of the united India. Due to its settlement on the banks of the Indus river, this civilization came to be called the Indus Valley Civilization.
How did the Indus Valley Civilization develop?
The Indus Valley Civilization was very similar to the Sumeru who came in the urban areas under the Mesopotamian Civilization of Iraq.
Initially, people used to earn their living by farming. With the change of time, the lifestyle of the people also changed. Now people started distributing the produce which was produced by farming, to other people and started earning profit. However, this profit was not made in money, but in exchange for some precious stones or other materials.Gradually, the economy of the Indus civilization also changed and along with animal, agriculture, trade and commerce also developed. The people of Indus civilization were very developed. If we talk about the most developed civilization in the world, then the Indus Valley civilization will be counted second after Roman civilization.
With the trade in other countries, the Indus Valley Civilization started taking a developed form, thus the Indus Valley Civilization developed well.
How was the Indus Valley Civilization discovered?
The Indus Valley Civilization is most famous for its town planning. When India was a slave of the British. At that time in 1826, for the first time, some blurry information was given about the Indus Valley Civilization, but it was not accepted.
When digging work was going on to build the train path from Lahore to Karachi, two brothers named William Burton and James Burton found some bricks as evidence while digging . They were completely unaware that they had discovered Jean Briquette, she was not ordinary. He also used these bricks in the construction of buildings and other works.
After this Alexander Cunningham visited the entire area of Indus Valley Civilization in 1856 and after survey it was found that the total area of this extinct Indus Valley Civilization could be more than about 1300000 km per square.
In 1921, under the leadership of British officer John Marshall, Rai Bahadur Dayaram Sahni started digging of the Indus Valley Civilization. When slowly its remains started appearing, everyone was surprised. The Harappan civilization was first discovered in the Indus Valley Civilization. That is why the Indus Valley Civilization is also known as Harappan Civilization or Indus Saraswati Civilization.
About 300 different cities were found in the Indus Valley Civilization after mining operations. The maximum number of cities of the Indus civilization, about 200, were discovered in Gujarat.
