Heavy rain in the summer ... Orange Alert issued by the weather center
Chennai: Heavy rains are expected in the delta and southern districts of Tamil Nadu. The Chennai Meteorological Department has issued an orange warning for heavy rains in the southern districts, #Pudukkottai, #Kadalur, #Ariyalur and Delta districts.
It has been raining in Tamil Nadu for the last one week after giving rest to the summer sun. During the last 24hrs maximum rainfall of 15 cm was recorded at #Tarapuram in Tamil Nadu and 12 cm at #Tenkasi #Aikkudi. Rain was reported. 11 cm in #Sankarako, 10 cm in #Tenkasi, 8 cm in #Sivagiri and 7 cm in #Pamban. The Met Office said that rain was recorded.

For Chennai, the sky will be partly cloudy for the next 48 hours. There may be light rain in a few places in the city. The maximum temperature is around 35 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is around 28 degrees Celsius.
Notice to fishermen
Strong winds of 40-50 kmph and intermittent gusts of up to 60 kmph are expected in the south-western part of Kerala, coastal areas of #Kumari, #Lakshadweep and south-eastern Arabian Sea today and tomorrow. Fishermen are advised not to go to these areas.
