It will be ensured that 5G services are available in critical sectors like education, healthcare, agriculture, manufacturing and e-operations. It is known that Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Jio was the top bidder in the 5G auction. Furthermore, it has acquired 24,740 MHz of spectrum in 5 bands. For this the company has spent Rs.88,078 crores. Jio said it will roll out 5G services in the shortest possible time with nationwide fiber availability, IP network and strong global partnerships
In connection with the 5G spectrum auction, Reliance Jio has purchased spectrum in 700 MHz, 800 MHz, 1800 MHz, 3300 MHz and 26 GHz bands. The company said that this spectrum will be used to create a state-of-the-art 5G network. The company explained that the deployment of an advanced 5G network will further strengthen India's global leadership in wireless broadband connectivity.
Bharti Airtel, on the other hand, is also set to bring 5 of these services. The company bought spectrum worth Rs.43,084 crore in the latest spectrum auction. It said that we are ready to start the 5G revolution in the country. The company purchased a total of 19,867.8 MHz spectrum in the 5G auction in 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz, 3300 MHz and 26 GHz bands. Airtel has said that it will not have to spend money on spectrum again for many years due to the large spectrum purchase. Union Minister Ashwin Vyshnav said that 5G services will be available from October.
It is an important milestone for India that the spectrum's latest generation 5G network will be made available to the citizens with the equipment designed in India, Chandrasekhar added. However, 5G is expected to shore up Average Revenue Per Unit (ARPU) for telcos by at least Rs 50 to the Rs 225-250 range in the next 12-24 months.
