When it comes to dieting, many people fail before the process begins. They are literally afraid to go on their diet, and they plan their accidents before starting the process. It's sad to say, but it's true that people who overeat are planning their first Rocky Road accident and eating the last of Rocky Road before the big event.
I don't know why we do this to ourselves, but this is something I see everywhere in dieters. A very popular belief is that before starting the dieting process one should eat the most favorite and favorite foods as these things should be completely eliminated to reduce those unwanted pounds. If you are honest with yourself, there can be nothing beyond the truth. Moderation is just a concept that many of us hate to accept.
You must change your diet and your personal enjoyment of food in order to be successful in any diet. Food is not the enemy. And it's something that not enough people really understand. Even ‘tasty’ foods are not enemies. The enemy is your personal inability to properly distribute the food you eat. The problem is that the majority of us eat the wrong foods much more often than we eat the right foods.
Your body needs nutrients that you need to consume five servings of vegetables and three servings of fruits. Your body knows that something is missing, and you feel hungry or deprived. If you maintain a proper balance of fruits and vegetables every day, you will find that you are less likely to be hungry and want to eat foods that are not as healthy. This means we can enjoy them in moderation because we want to enjoy them.
Portion control is another problem we have. We live in a sell up society. With your favorite cola, gallon of super size fries and empty calories are provided with every fast food meal you can buy. You just have to be more discriminating with the help you render toward other people.
To be truly successful at dieting, you need to embrace the process of healing yourself, rather than depriving yourself of something. Don't think of your weight loss plan as something negative, it has the positive power to make a difference in your life. When negative thoughts come to your mind, do not direct them to your diet. When you feel deprived, remind yourself that you are depriving your bones of weight. Remind yourself that you are depriving your wardrobe of heavy clothing that is designed to hide bubbles. Remind yourself that you are depriving your body of many years of bloating and bringing back your youth.
Don’t get so caught up in the dieting process that you forget to enjoy something life has to offer. Just looking at your weight and counting your calories doesn't mean you can never go your own way. The goal, however, is to find balance. If you learn how to manage your food properly, exercise restraint and incorporate enjoyable calorie burning activities into your daily routine, you will be amazed at the results.
Avoid pampering if you can't control yourself. However, if you can learn to incorporate those small foods into your daily routine and burn those extra calories, then you should find yourself a happier and more successful dieter than ever before.
