Sports star made her retirement intentions known earlier this month.
She had previously stated that she would end her career after the Dubai Tennis Championships in one month.
She described her tennis career in detail, thanked her family and supporters for their support over the years, and announced that she was about to embark on a new chapter of her life and spend more time with her kid.
The Indian tennis star opens her statement with the words, "Thirty years ago, a six-year-old girl from Nadir School in Hyderabad came onto a tennis court at Nigam Club and fought the coach to let her learn how to play tennis since he considered that she was too little [to play tennis]."
She continued by describing how she had begun practicing at the young age of six and had "dared to dream" that one day she would represent her nation in a Grand Slam.
"[Looking back], not only did I get to play well over half a century of Grand Slam tournaments, but I was lucky enough to win a handful of them, too, with God's favor," the athlete wrote.
Indian Star stated that receiving medals for her nation had been her "greatest honor" and that it had been a humbling experience even as she composed the statement.
It's all of you, who have supported me through the toughest times of my life and encouraged this young girl from Hyderabad to not only dare to dream but to fulfil those aspirations, as well, she wrote after thanking her family, her fans, and her entire team for their unwavering support. So please accept my sincere gratitude.
As she described the breadth and depth of her Tennis career, the celebrity wrote, [Tennis] is all I've known my entire life.
She said, "I've been a professional athlete for 20 years and a tennis player for 30 years."
She continued by thanking her family, her supporters, and her entire team, saying: It's all of you who have supported me through the hardest times in my life and encouraged this young girl from Hyderabad to not only dare to dream but to realize those aspirations, as well. Therefore, I really thank you.

She said, "I've played tennis for 30 years and 20 of those as a professional athlete."
She continued by thanking her family, her supporters, and her entire team, saying,

Sports star said in response to a question about her decision to retire in 2023: My Grand Slam journey began with the Australian Open back in 2005. Therefore, it should go without saying that this would be the best Grand Slam to round off my career.
The Australian Open is scheduled to begin on January 16 this year. 18 years ago, sport's star tennis player competed in her maiden Grand Slam event at the Australian Open. She intends to compete in the Dubai Open in February after this Grand Slam.
Sports star tennis player noted that, notwithstanding how touched she may have been, her two strongest emotions at the time of her retirement were "thanks and pride".
"I am extremely appreciative for the memories that I have been able to build," she added. "I take pride in what I have been able to achieve during the previous 20 years of my professional career."
Sports star ended her letter on a bright note by adding that she did not see the retirement as an end" after the heartfelt and meaningful trip down memory lane.
"In actuality, [it is] the start of a multitude of new memories to be made, dreams to be realized, and new objectives to be set. I can't wait to live a little bit more quietly and peacefully while giving my son more of my attention than I have been able to so far. My boy needs me more than ever right now.
