When Protecting Trees With Bird Netting

If you have a problem with birds, you have probably tried many solutions. Some of the more popular ones include plastic animals, scarecrows, wind chimes, or very light tape. All of these factors can do much to alleviate the birds' problems. I have a few cherry trees in my yard, and I used to fight a lot with the birds. After I applied all these solutions, my problem almost disappeared. Unfortunately, the solution lasted only a few months. Clearly, birds have an innate tendency to be bold as time goes on. Although at first my fears were unfounded, now I look out and see them sitting on his shoulder. And I eat cherries on my tree. Those little rude ones! I'm not saying I care about the birds. I like to have them in my yard. But you see, I have already selected one tree that will allow birds to graze on it. But the birds do not seem to be satisfied with what they are given. They always feel the need to move to my trees, where there is just their tree with no fearsome objects next to it. I have seen many garden shops market a kind of bird netting. I decided to use it. The bird net is actually a large net that you throw over the whole tree. The holes are about half an inch wide. I bought enough of this to cover one tree. It was really hard to install, but it really worked after that. I had no problem with the birds taking cherries from that tree. But one day I woke up and did my daily cycles. That day, I found 2 birds trapped in the net, choked to death. I felt very sad. I dug for the birds and quickly lowered the net. I did not want to protect my tree at the expense of bird life! Sure, I will kill a few bugs, but the birds are very nice to me. For a while, I felt very guilty about preventing the birds from eating again. I thought I would let them by allowing them to enjoy my cherries. I even calmed down. But a few months later, I saw something in a fabric store that made me reconsider my giving. Almost all fabric stores sell something called "tulle". It is an excellent net with very small holes that any bird can get into its mouth or head. Although easy to find, it is extremely cheap. Buying enough to cover one tree ended up costing less than half the cost of making a net for deadly birds. I put a tulle on my tree (I will admit it was much harder to put on than a bird net. I had to attach a few large pieces together to the stitches) and I watched the day. I wanted to watch it every second, so that if a bird was caught, I could help it quickly. Fortunately, no bird has ever been caught. Tulle is a safer and cheaper way to replace bird nets, and I suggest that if you have problems with birds. Just remember to let them have at least one tree of their own! Sharing with birds is an important part of being a good farmer.
