With Palace scenting blood, Olise then curled another gorgeous set-piece past Ederson in the 91st minute to dramatically level things up.
While City will see this result as two points dropped, Palace deserve immense credit for their spirit and resolve. Patrick Vieira has molded them into a cohesive unit. With talents like Olise and Wilfried Zaha, they have the ammunition to trouble any side on their day.
In other action, high-flying Newcastle United and Chelsea both secured crucial wins. Newcastle beat Fulham 1-0 thanks to an Alexander Isak winner. Meanwhile, Chelsea got the better of Crystal Palace courtesy Kai Havertz's second half strike. The victories see Newcastle and Chelsea occupy third and eighth position respectively going into the World Cup break.
With the Premier League now taking a month's hiatus for the Qatar World Cup, clubs and fans eagerly await its resumption in December. With only five points separating the top three teams, the competition for both the title and European places looks set to go down to the wire when domestic football resumes on Boxing Day.
