iPhone 14 will be unveiled by Apple on September 7th: report
On September 7, Apple Inc. is expected to introduce its most recent lineup of iPhones and smartwatches.
According to a report from Bloomberg News published on Wednesday, the tech giant will update its flagship smartphones as part of a hectic fall product push that will also feature four new Mac and iPad models and three new Apple Watch models.
The release of the iPhone 14 is, however, by far Apple's largest event. Sales of iPhones brought in $40.67 billion for Apple in the most recent quarter, up from $39.57 billion the year before and accounting for about half of the company's overall revenue. That exceeded analysts' projections, defying issues with the world's supply chains and growing prices.
The iPhone 14 is rumored to include a better camera but just minor technology advancements. It will also introduce a 6.7-inch screen version while removing the 5.4-inch "small" version.
Analysts are optimistic about Apple's future. Wedbush's Dan Ives told CNBC that the demand for Apple products will probably continue high next year. On Wednesday, Credit Suisse's Shannon Cross named Apple one of her "top picks," boosting her recommendation on the company from neutral to outperform with a $201 price target.
For the iPhone 14 Pro range, the firm is considering more significant upgrades. Apple will remove the notch, or cutout for the front-facing camera, and replace it with a pill-shaped Face ID sensor hole and a hole-punch-sized area for the camera. Users will now have a little more screen real estate. Additionally, the business is upgrading the iPhone 14 Pro's chip. The A15 chip from the iPhone 13 will still be used in Apple's standard iPhone 14 devices.
The camera system will see the most substantial upgrades in the iPhone 14 Pro and will appear slightly larger to users. A 48-megapixel wide-angle camera as well as 12-megapixel telephoto and ultrawide-angle sensors will be added to the Pro models. Apple also has plans to make battery life and video recording upgrades.
Women's health features and a body-temperature sensor will be included in Apple's newest Series 8 Apple Watches. The ordinary watch will resemble the Series 7, but a new pro model will target customers who are more active. Larger display, tough titanium housing, improved fitness monitoring functions, and longer battery life will all be included. Additionally, the business intends to release a redesigned Apple Watch SE with a speedier chip.
Both watchOS 9 and iOS 16, the software that will power the upcoming iPhones, will also be available in September. Additionally, the company intends to introduce the iPad's operating system, iPadOS, along with macOS Ventura in October. Bugs in the latter software's new Stage Manager multitasking mechanism contributed to a month-long delay.
According to Bloomberg News, Apple is developing new iPad Pro versions with M2 CPUs for later this year as well as an updated low-end iPad with an A14 chip and USB-C connection. As it works on Mac mini and MacBook Pro models with M2-based processors, it also hopes to introduce new Macs before the year is over.
Following a 24% rise over the previous three months, Apple shares AAPL, +0.88% closed marginally higher on Wednesday at $174.55 and are down around 2% year to date. In contrast, the S&P 500 SPX, -0.72% is down 10% in 2022 after rising by 9% over the previous year.
