வாகன ஓட்டிகளுக்கு உயிர்காக்கும் கவசமாக ஹெல்மெட் விளங்குகிறது. இருசக்கர வாகனங்களில் செல்லும்போது கட்டாயம் ஹெல்மெட் அணியவேண்டும் என்று அரசு உத்தரவிட்டுள்ள போதிலும், இதை பெரும்பாலானோர் கடைபிடிப்பதில்லை.இதனை முறையாக கடைபிடிக்காதவர்களுக்கு டிராபிக் போலீசார் அபராதம் விதிப்பதும் உண்டு. அவ்வாறு கடந்த ஆறு ஆண்டுகளில் மட்டும் ரூ.1,794 கோடி ரூபாய் அபராதமாக வசூலிக்கப்பட்டு உள்ளதாம். ஹெல்மெட் அணிவதனால் தலை சூடாகுதல், முடி உதிர்தல் போன்ற பிரச்சனைகளை சந்திக்க நேரிடும் என்பதனால் ஏராளமானோர் ஹெல்மெட் அணிவதை தவிர்ப்பதாக ஆய்வு முடிவில் தெரியவந்துள்ளது. இதற்கு தீர்வு கொடுக்கும் விதமாக தற்போது ஏ.சி ஹெல்மெட் கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டு உள்ளது. ஐதராபாத்தை சேர்ந்த கஸ்துப் கவுண்டினியா, ஸ்ரீகாந்த் கொம்முலா மற்றும் ஆனந்த் குமார் ஆகிய 3 இளைஞர்கள் இணைந்து இந்த ஹெல்மெட்டை உருவாக்கி உள்ளனர்.இந்த ஹெல்மெட்டின் உள்பகுதி நீண்ட நேரம் 24 டிகிரி செல்சியஸ் வெப்ப நிலையில் இருக்கும்படி வடிவமைக்கப்பட்டு உள்ளதாம். மேலும் இந்த ஹெல்மெட்டில் 3 வகை உள்ளதாம், ஒன்று வாகன ஓட்டிகளுக்கானது, மற்றொன்று கட்டிடம் மற்றும் தொழிற்சாலைகளில் வேலை பார்ப்பவர்களுக்கானது, மூன்றாவது வெல்டர்களுக்கானதாம். உலகிலேயே சிறிய கூலிங் சிஸ்டத்துடன் வடிவமைக்கப்பட்ட ஹெல்மெட் இதுதானாம். இந்த கூலிங் சிஸ்டம் வெளியிலிருந்து காற்றை உள்வாங்கி, அதனை குளுமைப்படுத்தி ஹெல்மெட்டின் உள்பகுதியில் 4 புறத்திலும் குளிர்ந்த காற்றை பரவலாக அனுப்புமாம். ஹெல்மெட்டின் பின்பகுதியில் வெப்ப நிலையை அட்ஜஸ்ட் செய்துகொள்ளும் விதமாக பட்டன்களும் கொடுக்கப்பட்டு உள்ளன. ஆன்/ஆஃப் பட்டனும் அதில் இடம்பெற்று உள்ளது. இந்த ஹெல்மெட்டை ஒரு முறை சார்ஜ் செய்தால் அதிகபட்சம் 10 மணிநேரம் வரை குளிராக வைத்திருக்குமாம். இதன் விலை 6 ஆயிரம் முதல் 10 ஆயிரம் வரை நிர்ணயம் செய்யப்பட்டு உள்ளது. மாடல்கள் மற்றும் டிசைன்களைப் பொருத்து விலையில் மாற்றம் இருப்பதாக கூறப்படுகிறது. சமீபத்தில் நடந்து முடிந்த துபாய் எக்ஸ்போவில் இந்த ஹெல்மெட் காட்சிப்படுத்தப்பட்டது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.நாட்டில் இருக்கும் பல்வேறு பகுதிகள் அதிக வெயில் தாக்கம் கொண்டவையாக உள்ளன. அவற்றில், ஒருசில பகுதிகளில் மட்டுமே குளிர்ந்த வானிலை நிலவுகின்றன. எனினும், பருவநிலை மாற்றம் காரணமாக, குளிர்ந்த பிரதேசங்களிலும் அவ்வப்போது அதிக வெப்பநிலை பதிவாகிறது. ஏற்கனவே வெயில் அனலாகக் கொதிக்கும் பகுதிகளில், மேலும் வெப்பம் தகிக்கிறது. கோடை காலத்தில், சென்னை உட்பட தமிழகத்தின் பல்வேறு பகுதிகளில், வெயில் 100 டிகிரியை தாண்டும் சம்பவங்களும் சாதாரணமாக அரங்கேறுகின்றன. இதனால் பொதுமக்களுக்குக் கடும் சிரமங்கள் ஏற்படுகின்றன. வெயிலில் தலை காட்ட முடியாமல் வீட்டிலேயே முடங்கிக் கிடக்கும் சூழல் நிலவுகின்றன. மேலும், ஏசி, ஏர் கூலர் உட்பட பல்வேறு மின்சாதனங்களின் பயன்பாடும் அதிகரிக்கிறது. வெயில் காலத்தில் வீட்டில் இருப்பவர்கள் எப்படியாவது தப்பித்துவிடலாம். ஆனால், வெளியில் அலைபவர்கள், டூ-வீலர் போன்ற வாகனங்களில் செல்பவர்கள் நிலை மேலும் பரிதாபத்தை தரக்கூடியது. அடிக்கும் வெயிலில் ஹெல்மெட்டை அணிந்து கொண்டு வாகனம் ஓட்டுவது, மிகுந்த சிரமத்தைத் தரக்கூடியது.
