when God of War: Ragnarok Is the Fastest-Selling First Party Title in the Sony PlayStation History

Leading up to the release of God of War Ragnarök, every gamer believed that the Santa Monica Studios-developed title would be a commercial juggernaut. Just a week after the launch of the game, Sony has confirmed this theory. According to the latest announcement, the sequel to the hit Game of the Year-winning title has become the fastest selling first-party title in the company's history. God of War Ragnarök has sold 5.1 million units worldwide within the first week. With this, Ragnarök is well on pace to become one of the best-selling video games of all time. The first week performance of the game sales broke past records set by other popular PlayStation titles like Marvel's Spider-Man, The Last of Us Part II, and even the 2018 God of War. Santa Monica Studios will surely be minting money with the second title in the Norse saga of God of War. And just like the 2018 title, God of War Ragnarök has also become a critical darling alongside its impressive commercial performance. In our 10/10 review for God of War Ragnarök, IGN India dubbed the Santa Monica Studios title "The Best Gaming Experience of 2022," with praises to its storyline, characters, locations, combat and more. Critics across the world have joined IGN India in praising the game. The initial reception to the game has made Ragnarök one of the favorites for Game of the Year wins this year. It will be interesting to see how the title fares in comparison to other hits of 2022 like Elden Ring, Horizon Forbidden West and more. Let me just start off by telling you that this is easily the best game I’ve reviewed for 2022. Right from the get-go, it is a surreal experience, with the most mesmerizing environments that you will ever witness in a game. Going into the game, God of War (2018) stood as the best title I have played to date. Therefore, I had a lot of expectations when I got my hands on the sequel and, man, does it meet all of them. Players should know that I played the game on default settings, which included 60 FPS with upscaled 4K visuals on the PlayStation 5. After going through all the other configurations, smoothness trumped the resolution bump. The first feeling you get while getting into the game is of a finished product, everything works as intended and has a feeling of polished finesse to it. God of War: Ragnarök easily gets my vote for the Game of the Year in 2022 (so far). The story, gameplay and visuals are the best in class, and it will set a benchmark for future games. Players that come to this title will get the most fulfilling experience 'and' they will be completely immersed from start to end. Every PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 owner should get their hands on God of War: Ragnarök. Everyone should be a part of this adventure that sets a new benchmark for narrative-driving video games across the industry.
