The "Chat with your claim number" feature of WhatsApp appears to be coming soon to Windows users as well. Last month, WhatsApp for Android and iOS began rolling out the Message Yourself feature, which enables users to send material to themselves. Additionally, the most recent WhatsApp for Windows beta client is said to have it available. This will make it easier for customers to send themselves urgent notes, updates, or critical information. Before, customers needed a moment WhatsApp account linked to their second phone number in order to accomplish this.
According to WABetaInfo, the Meta-owned messaging service has begun rolling out the ability to message yourself with the latest WhatsApp beta for Windows 2.2248.2.0 update.
To use this feature, WhatsApp users must download the most recent version of the beta app from the Microsoft Store. Users will see a separate chat with their name followed by "(You)" once the app is installed. They can send quick notes, shopping lists, reminders, bookmarks, and other items by simply opening the tab.
According to the report, any message sent to your number will be delivered to all linked devices. Notably, the chat will be end-to-end encrypted, which means that only the user who sent the message will be able to see it across all of their linked devices.
Meanwhile, WhatsApp recently added Avatars to the messaging app, allowing users to customise their digital representation. Users can create an Avatar of themselves by selecting hairstyles, facial features, and outfits from the available combinations. The messaging app has also added 36 custom stickers that represent various emotions and actions. An Avatar can be used as a WhatsApp profile photo or as a sticker.
Users who have signed up for WhatsApp's beta programme will begin to see an in-app banner announcing the feature, according to WhatsApp feature tracker WABetaInfo. A screenshot from the website shows a banner above the chats that reads, "Have an Android tablet? WhatsApp for tablets is now in beta testing.' The banner will appear as part of the WhatsApp beta 2.22.25.8 update for Android, which makes the popular messaging app tablet-compatible. Gadgets 360 employees who participated in the beta programme also received the banner on their smartphones.
WhatsApp is rolling out an update for Android beta testers that adds support for WhatsApp for tablets. However, the feature tracker indicates that the new tablet version of the app may be lacking in features. "Note that some features, such as the ability to share a new status update, live locations, and broadcast lists, may still be unavailable when installing WhatsApp on your tablet," the report said.
WhatsApp has been busy in recent weeks, releasing new features on both Android and iOS. The app recently added a 'Message Yourself' feature to both platforms, allowing users to text themselves in order to record important information, reminders, or store files. In addition, iOS users have received an update that allows them to include captions for forwarded media.
