The Alfa Romeo Tonale arrived in 2024 as a more affordable entry point in a bid to boost the Italian brand's sales. Despite its sultry looks, Alfa's subcompact luxury SUV has done little for the struggling automaker, moving only 3383 units in 2024, just barely outselling the pricier Stelvio, which is nearly a decade old. Now, after just three years, Alfa Romeo is refreshing the Tonale, introducing sharper styling and simplifying the lineup by dropping the plug-in hybrid powertrain.

The design changes are subtle, with the front end wearing a new bumper with a more sculpted look, ditching the thin vents on the outer edges for a large lower intake that angles upwards and is capped on both ends by black trim. The grille is also revised, now sporting a pair of small vents on the bodywork on either side of the triangle and a new pattern of horizontal strakes. The Tonale also gains three new exterior paint colors for 2026: Rosso Brera, Verde Monza, and Giallo Ocra.
