There is a lot of controversy surrounding the topic of pubic hair these days. In particular, it is mostly about whether or not the hair in this very private area should be removed. If the decision is made to remove pubic hair, how much should actually be removed? Is the trim sufficient? Should there be a bikini line without unsightly, gross black curls? Or should a woman jump on the bandwagon and go for the much hyped Brazilian wax?
Waxing seems to be by far the most popular hair removal method. Waxing is relatively cheap and in most cases is only temporarily uncomfortable, usually during the procedure itself. When finished, the skin in the pubic area is soft and stubble-free.
Waxing is not permanent hair removal. In this process, the hairs are simply pulled out from the hair shafts. The hairs will grow back in a few weeks, which means that the depilation process will have to be repeated as long as the desired effect is desired. However, some people claim that the hairs that grow back diminish over time and that these hairs grow back with a different texture: they are finer and not as natural as they once were. Since it is possible that repeatedly pulling hairs from their roots can eventually damage the actual hair follicle, the point from which the hair grows can affect future hair growth.
Another advantage of waxing is that it allows one to better control the location of the pubic area to be hair-free. It is a quick process that one can do themselves if they wish. However, there are plenty of people who will perform this hair removal technique for you if you are willing to share this very personal experience! There are many wax products available, but read the label before buying. You want a waxing product that is safe in this area.
Sugaring is a technique similar to waxing. But instead of wax, which can be messy and difficult to clean, an organic sugar-based mixture is used instead. The concept of a sweet paste, usually mixed with honey and lemon, has been around for centuries. The paste is applied to the skin and as it hardens, it captures the hair. Once the paste sets, it is very quickly pulled off the skin, removing as much hair as possible.
Waxing or sugaring generally does not cause skin irritation like frequent shaving and chemical depilatories. And these methods are much cheaper than laser treatment and electrolysis.
SPRING
Warm golden undertones and usually creamy white or peach. Straw colored or strawberry red hair, freckles, pink cheeks and blue or green eyes.
Try: all warm blondes, from light wheat blonde to intense honey blonde or light highlights in golden blonde shades. Lighten your hair rather than tone it.
SUMMER
Pale and pink undertones. Usually natural blondes or brunettes with pale eyes.
Try: cool and muted hair colors. Blondes in silver tones, from platinum to ash blonde. Browns without golden effects and reds should be blue-red tones.
AUTUMN
Golden undertones. Many redheads and brunettes with golden brown eyes fall into this category.
Try: blonde, red and brown tones that lean towards gold and copper. Even natural carrot red hair can go well with henna red.
Seasons of Beauty: Your skin tone is the starting point for choosing a hair color. First, read the guide below and determine your skin tone by "Season": Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter; then choose your best hair color.
Try: browns which stress natural dark tones. When choosing reds, select rich tones that lean towards the blue scale, like burgundy or deep blue or pink.
