What is EVDO?
EVDO is short for "Evolution, Data Only" although it is sometimes called "Evolution, Data Optimized". EVDO is a highly flexible standard for wireless broadband that is being introduced to improve the performance of 3rd generation, 3G, mobile internet access.
Wireless Broadband has its obvious advantages over conventional, broadband broadband connections and most importantly these advantages are broadband device mobility. Through wireless internet connection it has become possible to access the internet not only using notebook computers but also cell phones and other mobile devices.
Benefits of EVDO.
While mobile internet access has improved, existing standards are limited. Bandwidth is limited and later only relatively small amounts can be transferred to end users without losing functionality and quality. EVDO is different in its approach to trying to combat this. Complex mathematical formulas used to assign a unique signature to all mobile devices. When the device has sent a signal requesting a data transfer, the signature is inserted into the signal and a modified message is sent. The recipient uses the opposite number to switch the signal back. EVDO also splits data into smaller information packages and sends these packages separately. In essence, this means that bandwidth usage on any single device is significantly reduced, allowing more users to gain faster internet access on any mobile device. It also means that small details need to be sent. In addition to the use of EVDO, mobile devices strive to find the bandwidth they need to seamlessly access websites, especially if those sites have a lot of data to submit. With EVDO this is basically a thing of the past and millions of people on their cell phones can access the same sites at the same time with little or no effect.

EVDO can generate 2.4-megabit output. This is as powerful as most of the American DSL Broadband connections found in people's homes. Of course, because EVDO is really wireless and portable no matter where you are, you can access the internet on your mobile phone, your notebook or any other mobile device without fear of low quality.
Available Technology.
EVDO was introduced to compete with the wireless internet technology called W-CDMA. However, W-CDMA requires a permanent method to be created between the receiver and the transmitter, using the maximum available bandwidth. EVDO does not require this because it creates packages and sends data in small batches. One of the great advantages of introducing the EVDO, however, is that it uses waves that are exactly the same as existing channels, meaning that there will be no structural change required to establish a usable network.

Korea and America are at the forefront of introducing EVDO for personal users and a few services in the US are already using a few pricing systems and restrictions to allow users to easily access an active internet connection via their mobile phone. Amp'd is one of the latest market entry programs and with a $ 15 per month service with an all-inclusive EVDO package, they seem to be leading the way in pricing. The Amp'd service offers many of the provided MTV channels and media to download, if it is a package of your choice, and there is sure to be something for everyone.
