During my college days, I personally have no idea about working in the future. This is a mistake; you have to decide your career while studying college and practically developing your skills. Even though your academics are good, a company cannot be selected because they expect practical knowledge more than a theoretical one. So, the first step is to choose your career, either a frontend or backend.
Then you have to choose which kind of developer you want to be(Web developer, Android app developer, or IOS app developer). After deciding your career, keep practicing with what you learned theoretically by coding in any open-source software. Thorough the basic programming and then move to the complex one by creating a simple application like building a calculator.
Now you can code without a syntax error. You can now start doing projects on which language you learned. For example, if you have studied HTML, then you can build a static website. Then learn CSS and apply some styles to the website you created before. After practicing daily for a month, you will understand all the basics of HTML and CSS. Then you have to learn javascript to make your website interactive. It's quite a challenging one, but you can do it if you enjoy coding.
After three months, you almost learned javascript somewhat. Then you have to learn Javascript frameworks like Angular.js,React.js.Also, you have to learn express.js and node.js along with the MongoDB database. If you learned all this within your college days, you would definitely get a job. You do a project by using all of them and add them to your resume.
Likewise, if you want to be a backend developer, the above-mentioned things are also useandwith c,c++, java, python, etc.; you can also learn SQL and MYSQL for extra job opportunities. If u doubt choosing a frontend or backend developer, you can simply learn all I have mentioned above. This will help you get jobs easily. If you cant study all these within college days, you can take some extra time to get the things done. There is always a demand for a good developer.
