One of my biggest problems with weight control is the fact that I need more self-control to achieve any tangible results. Ah, but I hear you say, "What's new about that?" We all have that problem! Tell us something new! Yes, we all know that the big problem is not. Let's face it - food is one of the greatest pleasures of life, and it would be extraordinary if it were not for that. After all, most of us are “normal” people. How many of us adhere to a healthy diet all the time, we all have our own struggles with eating to a greater or lesser degree. If we can be careful to recognize this problem, and make the point of knowing a little more about our health, and proper nutrition, we are more likely to make wise decisions about our food choices. Many people are plagued by “appetite” for food, and research tells us that it is common for food “cravings” to occur from time to time, usually during sleep. It may be that your vigilance is low, or you have had an unusually difficult day, and you continue on your unhappy path, aiming to find that delicious food. Fatigue and stress often combine to produce the best intentions, so please do not worry about it, be sure you are not alone. When food cravings are uncontrollable, what started as a snack before bedtime, quickly becomes a full-blown meal… not something most of us fully understand or enjoy. We head to the kitchen and to every other place where food can be hidden, quickly opening the way as we go. Many diet cravings are not about satisfying nutritional needs or inequality. They seem to be closely related emotionally, or God be far away, caused by the usual normal drowning. Why we overreact is not entirely clear, yet our knowledge of this subject continues to grow. Here are some of my thoughts on how to control your appetite. If food is not available, you cannot eat it. Pour out the cookie jar and keep it that way! Keep healthy food choices in hand. It is important to be aware of the emotions and feelings that will lead to the craving for food. Do you have an eating disorder when you are bored, or do you feel lonely, or is it the underlying stress factor. If you can see the bullet that leads to that longing, it means you are part of the process of winning the battle, because you will be able to deal with the feeling that makes you crave something. Sometimes, even seeing that anticipation will not seem to help, but please do not bother with it, what is being done, do not feel guilty because there is tomorrow. Why not call one of your friends and tell them how you felt at the time, as it is a good idea to make good use of your support network. Self-control and self-control will not eliminate you! If you rely solely on yourself for control, you will fail. Building a caring and supportive relationship is really important, so if you do not currently have a support network, start building one TODAY. Get enough sleep. When you feel really tired, you are more likely to crave things, and to me personally, it is usually chocolate, maybe the same. Do not lose hope. When you get off the rails, don't give up, hold on, do whatever it takes to regain control, because you really have to get that control. Try to exercise more often, but do not overdo it and do not limit yourself to your weight loss program. Think balanced and not always self-controlled! Exercise. This will increase the good feeling of endorphins that will help reduce your cravings. Try to get at least 30 minutes of daily exercise. I hear a lot of people say they can't get into any excerise, believe me you can do it, we're talking about 30 minutes here, at worst, it will mean you have to get out of bed early. A quick morning trip will do wonders for the soul and soul, and will help keep you up all day! Use balance. Instead of indulging in every form of food, hoping that your cravings will end, eat 100 to 200 calories whatever you crave at the moment, but you should stop immediately! Replace low-fat diets with complex carbohydrates. If you are hungry for chocolate, eat low-fat chocolate yogurt or mousse, or try figs or dried fruit instead. You will be amazed at how helpful this will be. You should try and never skip meals. It is very wise to eat a meal even if only one apple, every three or five hours. Try six small meals, or a regular snack with a nutritious snack in between. Try and remember that hunger cravings are closely related to depression. Practice other ways to deal with stress, walking in the park for example, spiritual communication, a cozy fireplace, or even a bath. You see, all of this stimulates neurochemicals that activate brain regions that increase the sense of well-being. Relaxation techniques can really be helpful in reducing the levels of stress you may be experiencing. So the key is to try and change the fun experience with a comfortable diet. Be aware of certain medications that may stimulate your appetite. Certain drugs used to treat depression and bipolar disorder can be dietary supplements. Some medications, both prescription and over the counter, may have side effects as well. If you are taking medication and are suffering from anorexia, discuss this with your doctor or pharmacist. You may be able to find a way to get rid of your food cravings. Distract yourself. What that old saying is ... idle hands are a devil's workshop, so get busy! Do anything other than your appetite, and keep doing it until the cravings end. One last thought to you. Look inside your refrigerator and kitchen cabinets and d
