Imran Khan is arguably one of the greatest political leaders ever. He was the only candidate who could have defeated the incumbent president when he was not even elected as prime minister. His vision for Pakistan has been fulfilled. And that is what we hope for. We expect him to lead our nation to greater heights.
Imran Khan came into power on a platform of bringing people together and uniting them. He believed in hard work and honesty; he never forgot the sacrifices of his fathers -- and his grandfathers -- to build this great country. This is something that we must all strive for.
He had promised us, the citizens of Pakistan, a change of government after every five years. Unfortunately, he never did it. But his leadership qualities and commitment to building a prosperous state are unmatched. Some of these qualities include discipline, dedication, courage, integrity, persistence, positivity, and selfless service. These are values that were instilled in you as a young boy. They have made you the man you are today. There are two possible outcomes for our current situation. Either we give up or continue. If we give up then we will have lost. So, if you want to make your way out of the mess of the past, I ask you as citizens of this great nation to join me and vote for Imran Khan.
The second question is whether there is any difference between the old and the new Pakistan. It is true that when Mr. Khan became prime minister, his mandate did not match his ambition. That is why some things were left undone. Our parliamentarians may say that they do not agree with the decision of the Supreme Court but the result has been the same throughout history.
The problem is that those who are being voted out of office in elections are often seen to be holding their moral compass. Whether those morals were shared with Mr. Khan, nobody knows. It is therefore difficult to judge his decisions because it is unclear how we would have coped without him. It is also unclear how we would have managed to deliver this great nation. One sure thing is that Mr. Khan was able to bring about change through his vision and his vision alone was good enough to see Pakistan through these tough times.
It is unfortunate that when politicians are faced with this reality in Pakistan, they tend to lose touch with common sense. In my view, however, Mr. Khan made the right call in giving up power. A country can always fall back on its foundations. When you fail to achieve anything, you need to think that there is no other option. You cannot run away from problems. All we can do is face them and come out stronger than before.
It is easy to blame the wrong person when someone else is responsible for an outcome. However, it is different when you are responsible for an outcome. Instead of trying to find fault with others, try and look for solutions. Because only then will you get to learn from them and improve on what they have done. Your actions become your lessons. Only then can you move forward as a united nation.
The most important lesson that Mr. Khan has taught us is to remain focused. People with passion and determination may be easily frustrated. Many of my friends have said that politicians and bureaucrats are just waiting to be thrown into jail. That is why some politicians and bureaucrats believe that they can escape prison by taking bribes. This is a dangerous game people. Such individuals have got themselves in grave danger because they do not take responsibility. For example, the PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif. He had committed crimes against humanity which he did not account for while serving the country as a member of parliament.
The world will not forget Nawaz Sharif, who refused to testify against any corruption charges. Instead, he went to court to defend himself. After the verdict was announced, he resigned from his post as prime minister.
This is why many politicians now think that they are fighting a losing battle. But to win a war, you do not fight alone.
So, Mr. Khan, today is the day to go the extra mile and show love for your country. Let your family members back home know that you are standing for the very best interests of your country. We have given you a life of fame and security. Why should you give up? Do not let anyone tell you otherwise.
This time, you must stay focused and keep going. With your leadership skills, determination, and positive mindset, you will succeed. Believe me, you are one of the greatest leaders of our generation. Mr. Khan, it would be wonderful if you could visit our country sometime. Thank you so much for leading Pakistan.
