Why should weight loss be so stressful? Why is it so difficult? There are many features. It would be presumptuous to say that losing weight was easy. Certainly not! The person who should lose weight at that time finds it difficult and frustrating as someone who should lose more than a hundred pounds. While the number of pounds seems to be the big difference between a ten-pound loser and a 100-pound loser, the fact is that the same frustration is also happening. I suggest that we be aware of two major influences that we must “learn to understand” if we are to achieve our weight loss goals. For me, two major influences are “external” influences and “internal” influences. External influence is anything outside the real world that is affected, with three dimensions like food, scales, glasses, people, clothing, and so on. Internal influences are the things that move in your heart, your desires, your thoughts, and ultimately your actions. Both external and internal influences play their role in weight loss. The key is learning how to pay attention to positive emotions that will help you to lose weight. Below are some external influences and how they affect your weight loss progress: Scale: confirms your successes or failures every time you step on it. Lower numbers on the scale indicate that you have lost some weight, but not enough to meet your expectations. Higher numbers on the scale indicates that you have done something wrong. We do not count water weight, constipation, muscle mass, etc. Mirror: it acts as our “analysis meter,” or something that reflects the way the world views us, so we, too, should look at ourselves that way. Refrigerator and cabinets: reminders of LOCATION "NO" in our homes. People: When they know you are losing weight, they want a report on your progress. Physical fatigue: changes in diet, exercise, or anxiety begin and sometimes irritate or upset. Diet: new eating habits and healthy snacks disrupt what you previously know as "normal", and new ways are harder to implement. Calendars: the times you set to achieve your weight loss goals are nearing its end, and you fear that you will "again" fail. Menus: The right food choices look like CHORE, and food just isn't fun anymore because you know caloric count, grams of sugar, grams of protein, and grams of fat are all that you put in your mouth. Clothes: as you lose weight, clothes start to pull you down a bit, and this can make you look even worse. Spending money on new assets can be stressful if not part of the current budget. Experts: They have all kinds of weight loss suggestions, and they can't wait to hear you out. The list above may be further based on how deep you wanted to analyze the issue. But as you can see from this abbreviated version, all the "external" influences make us feel the pressure of losing weight. The inner influences I would like to talk about are those influences that some might call “self-expression”, or rather “self-assurance” that can tell us whether we are right or wrong in the world as we know it. It is the inner voice that we all have that directs us to lose weight, and it inevitably leads us to act according to our own thinking. Actions begin with thoughts, and thoughts begin with desires. And desires start with what we really want in our heart. Sounds complicated and poetic, I agree; but it is worth the effort to take the time and find out how you can make your heart express its desires, which will move thoughts, which will lead to actions. Internal influences work best for YOU NEVER step on the scale or look at yourself in the mirror. Then what happened? You have allowed external influences to monitor your progress, and external influences seek to surpass all those positive internal influences. You start to ridicule all your hard work, get frustrated, point out shortcomings, and often downplay any gains. You will do this for one lost pound or for a hundred pounds lost. Why? Because it allows external influences to take over internal influences. How do you make internal influences higher than external influences? This trick… WORK ON IT and remember that TWO TO ANOTHER! As you hear the “devil in your shoulder” (external influences) hurling insults, doubts, and evil words, turn your head to “the angel on your shoulder” (inner influences) telling you that you do amazing things, improve, work hard, improve every day, and succeed. For every word that contradicts, back with two words of encouragement. If you do this, you will stay one step ahead of the negative, which may be enough to keep you moving forward in the prize. At the moment of NOT PLANNING, external influences gain one for you, then double up, and soon for ten ... like a board game and your piece of game falls behind in the squares. If you find yourself far behind in the squares, you will be very disappointed and quit the game together. Like a child who says, "Well, I can't win now", he leaves the game and bounces his way home. External influences have to be part of the process, unfortunately. This is a monitoring, our measuring rod that proves we are doing the right thing. The body does not understand this at all. The body is a good machine that is always busy with checks and balances, making sure the systems are moving, that all operations are working to their best abilities. It has no time for “feelings.” Only performs its duties properly. So you can’t rely on the body to understand any internal influences or external influences as I said. It only cares about physical activity and performance. So work hard at listening
