What Survived And What Was Destroy In Air India Flight Crash

 

✅ What Survived:

 

1. One Passenger:

A British national, Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, survived the crash. He was seated near an emergency exit and escaped through a rupture in the fuselage. He sustained only minor injuries.

 

2. Flight Data Recorder & Cockpit Voice Recorder:

Both black boxes were recovered intact. These are crucial for understanding what happened in the cockpit and the plane's technical state during the crash.

 

3. Some parts of the fuselage:

While heavily damaged, certain sections of the aircraft’s structure remained recognizable and helped investigators.

 

❌ What Was Destroyed:

 

1. The Aircraft:

The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner was completely destroyed in the crash and post-impact fire.

 

2. Lives Lost:

  • 241 people on board died (230 passengers, 11 crew).
  • 38 people on the ground were killed, mostly in the medical college hostel where the plane crashed.

 

3. Medical College Hostel Building:

The crash site a hostel in the Meghani Nagar area was severely damaged or partially collapsed due to the impact and fire.

 

4. Engine Systems:

Both GEnx engines likely failed catastrophically. Their remnants were recovered in a heavily damaged state.

 

The investigation is still ongoing to determine the exact technical cause and failure chain.
