Have you ever noticed that some Moms seem more satisfied and confident about their role as Moms, while others seem more depressed and close to exhaustion? Why are some Moms unmoved and able to maintain their sense of humor, while others are overreacting to the slightest stress in their day? I am currently watching and chatting with these happy Moms as I do research for the upcoming book. Although all Moms are different, these women often have several of the same traits. 1) They keep it simple. I know one mom who buys groceries every two weeks and buys the same thing all the time to prepare the same menu for 14 dinners. Why is he doing this? She has chosen a family favorite meal from her menu to save time and arguments at the dinner table. Anyone with children knows that they like to eat the same things over and over again! The mother has decided not to have another tire repaired twice a month. Here is one example of how to keep it simple. 2) They teach their children to be independent. This does not mean that they are left to fend for themselves all day long. But a wise mother knows that a 2-year-old can put food in a dishwasher, a 4-year-old can prepare peanut butter and a gel sandwich, and a 7-year-old can sweep the floor (albeit incomplete!). Call it “outsourcing” for mothers. 3) They dumped the SuperMom complex. Sweating of small things seems to be a common sign of happy Mothers. They learn to choose their own wars. Bound to a car seat? It is not discussed. Pink paisley pants with orange plaid shirt? Fashion art. Happy mothers also realize that being a wonderful mother does not mean that you are a perfect mother. 'said Nuff. 4) They are often heard repeating the phrase “This too will pass”. This does not mean that the disturbing behavior of children should be ignored, as discipline can save a great deal of time in the long run. It means that mothers realize that children ... are rude creatures, and that immoral behavior will just go away as the child grows up. Wise Mothers are also keenly aware of their child's growth and do not expect more than they can give. 5) The Wise Mothers take care of themselves. They don’t blame the baby for their extra weight when the baby in question is trained in the pot! They emphasize healthy eating, avoid excessive use of stimulants (caffeine, sugar), get adequate rest, and daily exercise. They see that you cannot pour out an empty bucket. 6) They live in a period. Happy mothers realize that the days are long but the years are short. It's not that they can't be stressed, it's that they have learned to lower their expectations and to be in a time when things get tough. When your toddler hits the whole house, this is not the time to tidy up a hallway closet. Sick day and turn the time to create fond memories of hours spent reading and hugging on the couch. 7) They do not care about what others think. Whether it’s the inconsistent glitter of an old woman in the pay line, a mother who is sure to starve a baby by breastfeeding, or a pediatrician whose medical advice is diverting to parental advice, happy mothers are learning not to give too much weight. in the opinions of those who do not live in their own homes. 8) In other words, they trust their natural instinct. Whether taking a child to bed with them to get more sleep or getting an abusive child out of a public school, Wise Mothers know that they are experts in their children. 9) Happy Mothers “have something else” It may be a temporary home-based business or hobby such as belly dancing. These Moms know that one day their babies will fly to the cage, and they make sure they have a love that will give them purpose when that happens.
