Physicists focus on the theoretical areas of the field and laboratory equipment. They are responsible for how things function in space, while, Astronomers will do their study on stars, planets, galaxies, etc. Despite the field you choose, all roads lead to a career in space science. The Indian Space Research Organization, based in Bengaluru, is the country’s national space agency. It is run by the Department of Space, which is overseen directly by the Honorable Prime Minister of India, and the chairman of ISRO also serves as the executive of DOS. ISRO was founded in 1969 with the aim of developing and using space technology for national development, while also pursuing planetary exploration and space science research. ISRO succeeded INSOFAR, which was established in 1962 by India’s first Prime Minister, Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, and scientist Vikramsarabhai, two of the country’s founding fathers of Indian space program.

        Space science is the study of the universe by scientists. To become a space scientist in ISRO, you must pursue an engineering or science course. ISRO usually recruits professionals with a masters in mechanical, electrical or computer engineering or a PhD in Astronomy, Physics, or Mathematics. Physicists concentrate on the field’s theoretical aspects as well as laboratory equipment. They are in charge of how things work in space, while astronomers research stars, planets, galaxies, and other objects. All roads lead to a career in space science, regardless of the area you select.

        Candidates must have completed a B. E/B. Tech or equivalent qualifying degree in first class with an overall minimum of 65 percent marks or a CGPA of 6.84 on a scale of ten. The most important advantage is work security. You get a long-term job with the assurance that your job will be secured. After retirement, all ISRO employees are responsible for their pension.

 Students must complete their 10+2 level of secondary education with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as their compulsory subjects. They should have knowledge of the physical concepts of Mathematics. 

  ISRO built India's first satellite, Prabhat, which was launched by the Soviet Union on 19 April 1975. In 1980, ISRO launched satellite RS-1 onboard its own SLV-3 making India the sixth country to be capable of undertaking orbital launches. SLV-3 was followed by ASL V which was subsequently succeeded by development of many medium-lift launch vehicles, rocket engines, satellite systems and networks enabling the agency to launch hundreds of domestic and foreign satellites and various deep space missions for space exploration.

ISRO has the world's largest constellation of remote-sensing satellites and operates the two satellite navigation systems GAG AN and NAV IC. It has sent two missions to the Moon and one to Mars. The Indian National Committee for Space Research was established by Jawaharlal Nehru under the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) in 1962, on the urging of scientist Vikramsarabhai recognizing the need for research space research. INSOFAR grew and became ISRO in 1969, within DAE. In 1972, the Government of India had set up a Space Commission and the Department of Space (DOS), bringing ISRO under the DOS. The establishment of ISRO thus institutionalized space research activities in India. It since then has been managed by the DOS, which governs various other institutions in India in the domain of astronomy and space technology.
