What's The Difference Between Blog and Website ?

The blog is short for weblog or weblog (and vlog is short for a video blog or video weblog), as in a log of articles.

A blog is simply a way to explain or teach things about a topic or post news about a certain topic.

For example, I’m a nerd, and I’m really into computers and technology; I may start a blog and post my latest PC builds, show off current projects, show how to build a computer, or post something I learned about something new being released by say Intel that I’m interested in

A website, on the other hand, can be anything; it can be a digital business card, a base for online shopping (like Newegg, Wayfair or online auctions like eBay), they can be forums/BBSs, a way to access online bill pay (say for power, gas, water, cable, internet, etc.), a host for streaming video (like Netflix, Hulu or a source of many vlogs, YouTube), even web crawlers/web search (like google) and more.

Keep in mind the sites (and types of sites) I explained above aren’t blogs (though some of them may contain blogs); a website is simply a collection of files (typically HTML files, but are not limited to only HTML) saved in a particular shared folder on a web server, accessed from a domain name (e.g., www.google.com) or IP address (e.g., 216.58.206.15) via a web browser.
