Elon Musk has been a vocal proponent of Dogecoin and a huge backer of the digital currency. Musk has frequently compared himself to Doge, and even his Tesla takes the cryptocurrency when selling merchandise. But by making a $64 million profit from the sale of Bitcoin this week, Tesla made a startling admission. For its financial reserves, Tesla, one of the Bitcoin investors, has booked some gains in the market leader, unlike Dogecoin. In the first quarter of 2021, Tesla has made a $1.5 billion Bitcoin investment. Tesla reported in an SEC filing on July 25 that it had earned gains of $64 million in connection with converting its holdings of digital assets into fiat currency for the three and six months ended June 30, 2022, as well as a $170 million impairment loss related to those transactions. The conversion of our digital asset holdings into fiat money resulted in gains for Tesla of $128 million in the first half of 2022. Additionally, the business incurred impairment losses on bitcoin of $23 million and $50 million, respectively. Additionally, for the three months ending June 30, 2022, the business reported other expenses totaling $36 million that were connected to the most recent employee terminations. According to reports, Musk has said that it would be inappropriate to interpret the most recent sale of a Tesla in Bitcoin as a verdict on cryptocurrencies. He attributed the need to increase cash reserves and book gains in Bitcoin to the ambiguous Covid scenario in China. Tesla's CEO has, however, made suggestions that they might up their Bitcoin holdings in the future. He also said no Dogecoin has been sold by business.
IS IT THE RIGHT TIME TO INVEST?
Dileep Steinberg, Founder & CEO, Muffin Pay, Bill Payment & Utility Crypto said, "The crypto market is facing a tough time in terms of price action. The aggression of the US Fed's rate hike and rising inflation will decide the movement of the market in the near term. As far as Bitcoin is concerned, it scaled the $23,000 mark in the previous week but is now close to $21,000. If it breaches this mark substantially, we may see $17,000, which were its previous psychological lows".
He also added, "On the contrary, when it comes to Dogecoin, it has seen more acceptance of late. Even the Whale activity around Dogecoin has increased dramatically, spiking. But the impact of such occasions and Musk's push is not long-lived, as it lacks a substantial use case. We would suggest investors to stay cautious and allocate only a small amount in the token". Some cryptocurrency investors and analysts believe that the market will continue to fluctuate in the near future, while others think that some stability can be anticipated in the second half of 2022. Dogecoin must develop some powerful methods akin to Shiba Inu if it doesn't want to be on the point of extinction as a result of the cryptocurrency market's volatility. Additionally, it has to catch the eye of ETH whales in order to boost its price in the wildly volatile cryptocurrency market.
