A migraine is a common neurological disease that causes a variety of symptoms, most notably a throbbing, pulsing headache on one side of your head. Your migraine will likely get worse with physical activity, lights, sounds or smells. It may last at least four hours or even days. About 12% of Americans have this genetic disorder. Research shows that it’s the sixth most disabling disease in the world.
What are the types of headaches? What kind of headache is migraine?
There are more than 150 types of headache, divided into two categories: primary headache and secondary headache. Migraine is a major cause, which means it is not caused by a separate medical condition. The main headache is a clinical diagnosis, which means there is no blood test or image diagnostic study. The second headache is a symptom of another health issue.
What is an aura?
An aura is a group of sensory, motor and speech symptoms that usually act like warning signals that a migraine headache is about to begin. Commonly misinterpreted as a seizure or stroke, it typically happens before the headache pain, but can sometimes appear during or even after. An aura can last from 10 to 60 minutes. About 15% to 20% of people who experience migraines have auras.
Aura symptoms are reversible, meaning that they can be stopped/healed. An aura produces symptoms that may include:
Seeing bright flashing dots, sparkles, or lights.
Blind spots in your vision.
Numb or tingling skin.
Speech changes.
Ringing in your ears (tinnitus).
Temporary vision loss.
Seeing wavy or jagged lines.
Changes in smell or taste.
Experts say that migraine sufferers should live in a way that minimizes the risk of headaches, such as using small screens, rest periods, and avoiding excessive brain fatigue. We will tell you the ways you can reduce pain to some extent by taking a migraine.
Get help from the cold
Cool the scalp if you have a migraine, the best way is to take a cold shower. Another way is to get help on the ice. Rub a few pieces of ice towel and apply on forehead for 15 minutes. Remove it after 15 minutes you will see a clear decrease in headache. If the headache persists, add more ice after 15 minutes.
Relax your head
Tightening the scalp also causes headaches. If they have a headache, women should loosen their hair so that the muscles are relaxed. Similarly, if you are wearing a scarf or hat on your head, take it off when you have a headache.
Turn off the lights
If you have a headache, lower the lights where you are, and install curtains on the windows. People with chronic headaches should keep their computer and cell phone light. Be sure to wear sunglasses when you are out in the hot sun.
Do not damage the jaw
Prolonged chewing gum may cause headaches, as it may be common to chew on a pan or a solid object, brushing your teeth. Consult a dentist about this and try to eliminate the habit.
Excellent solution With rapid headaches and adequate fatigue, a good cup of coffee can greatly reduce headaches.
