Gandhi, accompanied by Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge, laid the foundation stone of the new building of the Pradesh Congress Committee. The duo addressed a public rally in the state ahead of the elections this year.According to a PTI report, the Congress leader while addressing a speech to the party workers spoke about the caste census and questioned why Prime Minister Narendra Modi was "afraid" of it as well. He further demanded the immediate implementation of the Women's Reservation Bill for women in Lok Sabha and state assemblies. He said, "as soon as I started raising the issue of caste census in Parliament, BJP MPs tried to suppress my voice. There is an ideological fight going on between the BJP and the Congress." Earlier on Thursday, Gandhi was seen carrying a suitcase with wheels on his head during his visit to Anand Vihar Railway Station in the national capital.The Congress leader was seen interacting with the porters at the station. However, this sparked controversy among the opposition. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan mocked the Congress leader by saying, "I am surprised. "Empower women like Mimansha Upadhyay, and they'll lead our country to a brighter future," he wrote. Rajasthan mein Jan Nayak' was how Mr Gandhi was described on the official X handle of Congress alongside the scooter video.
