Royal commentator Robert Jobson is at the center of this criticism, calling Harry’s move a “PR stunt.” He argues that if Harry truly wanted to honor veterans and the occasion, he could have done it quietly without turning it into a media moment. According to Jobson, the way it was presented looked “too slick,” as if it was part of a strategy to rebuild Harry’s image.
The timing of the act also plays a big role in why it’s being called a “dig” at William and Kate. Jobson points out that the King and Queen were already leading a very emotional event, and Harry’s separate action seemed to pull attention away from them.
