Prince Andrew Author Threatened by Melania Trump Over Epstein Claim
The controversy here centers on a biography about Prince Andrew written by Andrew Lownie. In the original version, the book suggested that Jeffrey Epstein was the one who introduced Melania Trump to Donald Trump. This claim was highly sensitive and immediately sparked backlash.
Melania Trump, through her lawyer Alejandro Brito, strongly denied the allegation and took swift legal action. Her legal team demanded a full retraction and threatened a massive $1 billion lawsuit if the statement wasn’t removed. The demand letter highlighted how the claim had already been spread widely on social media, which they said damaged Melania’s reputation.
The situation escalated further when Hunter Biden repeated the same allegation in an interview, giving it even more visibility. This only added to the tension and made Melania’s legal threats more forceful.
Donald Trump also came forward to defend his wife, calling the accusation “ridiculous” and emphasizing that it was completely false.
In the end, the publishers, HarperCollins UK, decided to act cautiously. Even though more than 60,000 copies of the book had already been sold, they confirmed that all future editions would have the controversial claim removed.
