Google may take your entered search terms in any order to get a wider range of results. This can sometimes be a good thing, but not if you’re looking for exact order of words, like when searching for song lyrics. To search exact search phrases, where the results have your search queries in the order you entered, users can use double quotation marks (“ ”) with your queries.Google allows you to search for pages of a particular website so you’re not seeing other sites that you’re not looking for. To do this, you can simply add ‘site:xyz.com’ (where ‘xyz’ could be any website you want) to your search to get results from the particular website.Google lets you quickly make calculations from its search bar. You can simply search for queries like what is 82 divided by 3, or what is 56 times 7 to get to answers quickly. The search bar also doubles up as a quick currency converter when you need one, and yes it works with real-time conversion rates. You can search for $80 in INR, for instance, to get a quick conversion.Google also lets you quickly pull up the periodic table by simply searching for it. A number of tech companies have limited distribution and advertising tools to Russian news outlets in recent days as the European Commission readies a ban on them out of concern that they are spreading misinformation about the war in Ukraine.
Google asked them to return to the office on April 4. The search giant will now end the voluntary work from home specifically for employees in several US locations including the Bay Area. Previously, Google had also eased the vaccination guidelines. It no longer wants its employees who are working from home to get both the Covid-19 vaccines.
“It’s been a long and challenging two years since the vast majority of our people started working from home. But the advances in prevention and treatment, the steady decline in cases that we continue to see, and the improved safety measures we have implemented across our Bay Area sites now mean we can officially begin the transition to the hybrid work week,” John Casey, Google’s vice president of global benefits said in an email to employees. The email was obtained by CNBC.
The development comes a week after Google eased the vaccination requirements. “We’re not enforcing vaccination requirements as a condition of employment for US office workers at this time. We’re continuing to implement our vaccination policy requiring COVID-19 vaccinations or approved accommodations for any individuals accessing our sites, because it’s one of the most important ways we can keep our workforce safe and keep our services running,” Google spokesperson Lora Lee Erickson said in a statement to The Verge. However, Google has asked employees to wear masks at the officeEmployees who are not vaccinated will have to follow Covid-related protocols which includes frequent testing, wearing masks, David Radcliffe, Google’s VP of real estate and workplace services had said in a note to employees. His note further mentioned that amenities like fitness centers, shuttle services, pantries, and “all informal spaces” will be reopening soon.
Earlier in December, Google had sent a memo to its employees stating that employees who were found flouting vaccination rules would eventually be fired from the company. The search giant had given a deadline of January 18 to its employees to comply with the vaccination rules. Google has noted that the employees that fail to comply by the said date will be placed on "paid administrative leave" for 30 days, followed by "unpaid personal leave" for up to six months and termination. The new rules were announced for US employees only. Google is yet to share its return-to-office plans for its Indian employees.MeitY Startup Hub, an initiative of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), and Google have announced to cohort 100 Indian early to mid-stage startups and help them to build high-quality global apps and games. The 35% of the cohort come from Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities; 58% have a woman in a leadership role. The cohort’s main sectors are: Education, Health, Finance, Social, Ecommerce, and Gaming.
The initiative is part of Google's Appscale Academy. The goal of Appscale Academy is said to be to identify and support promising Indian startups and help them grow into successful global businesses
