
In 1702, nearly 320 years back, a Dutch scientist wrote a letter to the Royal Society of London. He stated that he found an awesome organism and that it had been dead for 20-30 years. It was survived once it came into contact with water. So some called it as 'water bears'
Later in 1773, Johann August did more research about tardigrade. They named the organism "Tardigrade." Tardigrade means slow walker- an organism that walks very slowly. Johann collected the fossils aging nearly 53 core years of that organism.
What did we find about this organism for the past 320 years?
There is enduring research about this organism; this organism is its "survival of the fittest " nature. 100 degrees Celsius is the boiling point of water; all the microorganisms and bacteria in the water would be killed at this temperature. But this doesn't go with tardigrade, and it can survive even at 150 degrees Celsius. It can also survive even the freezing temperature in Antarctica and the Arctic regions up to 273 degrees Celsius below zero.

Tardigrades-water bears or moss piglet any more than 1100 species of free-living tiny invertebrates belonging to the phylum tardigrade. They are conditions to be close relatives of arthropods. Tardigrades are mostly about 1 mm (0•04 inches) or less in size. They live in various habitats worldwide: in damp moss, on flowering plants, in the sand, in freshwater, and the sea. In adapting to this wide range of external conditions, many genera and species have evolved .
Tardigrades have a well-developed head region and short, shout, unjointed limbs generally terminated by several sharp claws. The animals have no known specialized organs of circulation or respiration; the tardigrade's body cavity is filled with fluid that transports blood and oxygen. The alimentary canal traverses the body from the end. Most plant-eating tardigrades feed by piercing individual plant cells with their styles.
Tardigrades are semi-aquatic. They can survive in watery and terrestrial environments, from oceans and lakes to mountains, forests, and dunes. They're are found all over the world, from frigid Antarctica glaciers to active lava fields. They're most commonly found living in mons. Rapidly expanding water molecules are dangerous because they can rupture cells which can be fatal. According to Boothby, you might expect that tardigrades would use this track to survive death, but only some species seem to make trehalose. It took heating to 82.7°c (130.9°F) to kill half of the tun states tardigrades within 1 hour. Longer exposure time decreased the temperature needed for lethality, though for 24 hours of exposure, 63.1°c (145.6°F) was enough to kill half of the tun-state tardigrades.
Where can we find the tardigrades?
They have been found everywhere in the earth's biosphere, from mountaintops to the deep sea and mud volcanos and tropical rainforests to the Antarctic. They can survive extreme conditions, such as exposure to extreme temperature, extreme pressure (both high and low), air deprivation, radiation, dehydration, and starvation that would kill most other forms of life.
Tardigrade has survived exposure to outer space. There are about 130 known species in the phylum. Tardigrades have been found in under; it is said that 145 to 160 million years ago found in North America. They grow o.5mm, short+plump, four pairs of legs, each ending in claws.
