A soft reminder for programmers
It's easy to get lost in all the details of making a great video or computer game - in fact, so easy that we can forget the parts of the game that make them fun to play. The following serves as a soft reminder to players to play the game first. Refer to this reminder when you are entangled in confusing C ++ syntax, or in the lines and lines of the Visual Basic Statements and DLL framework.
1. Remember the player is the main character. It's a secret between you and me: people play games to gain control. If you manage to program your game in a way that keeps the player in control, you've already won half the battle. This does not mean that the game should be easy. This literally means that when a gamer runs home from school or goes home from work to play a video game, she wants to feel the control that she did not have between nine and five. ۔ The outcome of the game - whether it is a win or a loss - should never be random, but rather the result of a good, controlled gameplay.
2. Kiss. Remember that acronym? This means Keep It Simple Stupid. We all know that programming a game is hard business, but trust us when we say we don't want to be reminded. The difficulty of programming a game should never be part of the gameplay, so whenever possible, make the game easy to start, easy to navigate, and of course easy to play. We're not asking about preschool strategies here, but on the other hand, we don't want to feel dumb like preschoolers. Forget the hundred page manual. No one is really going to read it except madness. Make your game for the average Joe and everyone will be your fan.
3. Add enough action. And add a lot to it. The more action you add to your game, the more players will pay attention to it. And the more players pay attention to your game, the more addictive your game will become. For each action that plays the role of the player, show the reaction of the game and then point the player for more.
4. Make the story good. There is nothing worse than just thinking about what you are doing and why you are playing. There is a purpose and there has always been a human obsession. But without it, we keep wandering میں in the dark سوچ thinking weird things like what a house would look like in a coat of bright pink paint. Don't let your players waste time like that. Give them a mission and make sure your game reminds them what the mission is at the right time and why they should complete it.
5. Give us eye candy. But make it relevant. The graphics in the game should not be disturbing, they should make our eyes shine with satisfaction, and then spit out for more. Graphics should include gestures and we should be more and more involved in the game until we defeat the object.
6. Make it real. Imagination games are fine, but what makes them cool is the fact that they are realistic. It's hard to get involved in something that is not familiar or there is no way we can ever experience it. But if you can apply some reality to your game, players will appreciate it and take it to a whole new respectable level.
