What Lifestyle Marketing

Lifestyle Marketing is the producer and musician Thes One's debut studio album. He is also a member of the Los Angeles hip hop group People Under The Stairs. It is an instrumental concept album that is almost entirely made up of samples from advertising jingles that Herb Pilhofer of Sound 80 Incorporated made for radio and television. The Music That Works series of demonstration albums was created by Herb Pilhofer at Sound 80 Incorporated in the early to middle 1970s. These albums were initially released in a limited quantity. Pilhofer's compositions for radio and television commercials, industrial films, and other projects were featured on the records.

The jingles are distinctive due to the fact that they serve as demonstration music for a significant number of significant past and current US corporations, such as Target, 3M, Northwestern Bell, Bobcat, and Pan-Am.

Sound 80 was the studio that recorded a Grammy Award-winning album for the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra in 1979[5] as well as a portion of Bob Dylan's 1974 album Blood on the Tracks. These projects were in addition to Sound 80's commercial productions.A 17-year-old Thes One discovered a Music That Works album in 1994 while visiting his family in Minnesota. Years later, while record collecting, Thes One discovered a second album. In 2003, after a world tour in support of People Under The Stairs' album O.S.T., he started remixing parts of the album as an experiment. He was intrigued by the chance to create musical works solely from very short samples of advertising jingles from inferior sources, most of which were under fifteen seconds.[4] Thes One would work on the project occasionally for the next year and a half. He even considered not releasing it at first, believing that the production was distinctive and intriguing enough to warrant a release[7]. Toward the end of 2004, Thes One contacted Pilhofer and conducted an interview with him about his work at Sound 80 Incorporated and the creation of the jingles. The idea intrigued Pilhofer, and his interview with Thes One can be found in the album's liner notes. Ethan Parsonage (Headnodic from Crown City Rockers and The Mighty Underdogs) was invited by Thes One, a friend and fellow musician, to record guitar and bass guitar parts for the album around this time.

Thes One's work on the album was temporarily lost for a year and a half when he moved into a new house and built his new studio, Piecelock 70, in San Pedro, California. However, in 2006, the tapes were recovered, mixed, and finished.[8] The album is on the first disc, and there.Previously known as Madacy Entertainment, Madacy Lifestyle Marketing was a Mount Royal, Quebec-based company that published DVDs, CDs, and VHS tapes.[1] The majority of the products were frequently found in numerous discount stores in the United States and Canada, often at lower retail prices than those of major labels' releases. Clarke, a Canadian investment firm, owned it before it was acquired in 2008.

Many of their releases are taken from sources that are in the public domain. The Wonder Kids Choir, the original singers, or Madacy's in-house performers, the Countdown Singers.
