What lessons should we learn from COVID-19 pandemic

Coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, is a highly infectious viral disease caused by SARS-CoV-2 has caused a great threat in the world after December 2019 outbreak in Wuhan, China. It is declared as a Global pandemic by World Health Organisation (WHO).  

Coronavirus has changed our lives in a significant manner. Social distancing and Masks have become a new normal today. It has also wrecked the backbone of a country's economy and has triggered the mental and emotional well-being of humans. 

A year ago, no one would have come across words like Quarantine and Social distancing. Along with throwing heaps of challenges and uncertainties, the COVID-19 pandemic has also taught some valuable lessons to us. 

 

1. Life is uncertain and unpredictable. Could you not take it for granted? Stop cribbing about your life problem and do not overthink or overspeculate every situation. Try to spend some time with yourself and try to analyze your problems and face them bravely.

2. Health is precious and must be the topmost priority. Practice personal hygiene along with physical exercises. Connect to a healthy lifestyle. Healthy eating habits are essential to maintain strong immunity. Stop junk food and bad eating habits.

3. Spend time with your loved ones because family and friends always come first.

 

4. Primary health care is critical. Medical research and development should be given higher priority. The health care facilities and infrastructure of a country should be improved.

5. Take mental health seriously. Self-care isn't selfish at all. Pamper yourself cause it has many positive outcomes. Meditation and yoga can help an individual cope up with stress during a tough time.

6. Social distancing, mask usage, and sanitizers will be a norm for years, and it should become a part of our daily life.

 

7. Humanity is above everything. All humans are equal. The virus does not discriminate. Discrimination in the name of class, creed, race, religion has no validity.

8. Necessity is the mother of invention. While many were left jobless during COVID, others were working remotely from their homes. Many made their hobby their source of income. Freelancing should be promoted among people.

9. Being creative bits of help. Develop a hobby to calm your mind and dwell out your hidden talents and skills. Try to journal your thoughts and de-stress yourself.

10. Isolation and Loneliness can be dangerous to your health. A healthy community and positive social connections are vital for your well-being, and they can do wonders for your health.

 

11. Cleanliness is next to godliness. No work is big or small. All health care frontline workers are our unsung heroes, and they should be given the recognition and respect they deserve.

12. Technology is a great boon if used wisely. Tech is for everyone. Befriend technology and switch to modern virtual tools like telemedicine, E-commerce, and online NetBanking. 

13. How you access nature is upto you. Man has exploited nature for so long, and it is high time we need to conserve our mother earth because earth treats all its inhabitants the same. 

 

We will surely ease back into our everyday routine sooner or later, but we should never forget the lessons that COVID-19 has taught us. Remember to always hope for the best and be prepared for the worst.
