First of all, we need to understand what youth is?
Youth :
The age of 16 to 20 is called adolescence. The beginning of puberty creates turmoil in a person. During this stage, many physical and psychological change takes place in the person. In fact, this is the initial phase of adolescence.
Adolescence is called the rising youth in India. As soon as a person becomes young, he starts being counted in the youth category. Puberty begins around the age of 20. In our nation, the people studying in the graduation classes are often counted in this stage. Just as some problems have to be faced in adolescence, young men and women face some problems in puberty. By the way, these problems can be different for different people. But these problems can be divided into some general categories.
Youth Problems :
(i) Academic -
A person faces some academic problems. Some students do not understand how to remember the answers to the questions for the test. They are confused about how much they should have to pass the exam. They do not feel like studying, and thus, their mind wanders. They cannot concentrate their mind. They do not understand their teacher's speech in the class. They find it difficult to determine the time-ratios between sports and studies and between entertainment and study.
(ii) Vocational -
A person often faces professional problems. In the last year of their graduation, many young people start saying that they do know different professions. They don't know who the business demand what kind of qualifications. They also keep complaining that they interference in the choice of occupation. They are confused about whether to complete their studies, or they should do some business. If they think of doing business, they cannot make any decision about what business they should do after studies.
(iii) Physical Health -
Some individuals face problems related to their health in puberty. Some people begin to feel tired in their youth. Some disease surrounds them. They keep complaining of stomach/headache. People keep saying that they have a fever.
(iv) Home and Family -
In the rising youth, the urge for freedom dominates the person. This becomes the main source of problems for the person in the house. Some people complain that their parents keep suppressing them. He wants to study away from his family. They experience strife in their home. He says that his views do not match with the family members. The complaint is that they don't feel like being in their own home.
(v) Sex and Marriage -
Problems related to work and marriage in youth have to face. Some people feel that their sexual instincts are very much dominating them. Some people are afraid of marriage itself. They say that marriage and love are two different paths. They think marriage is like imprisoning oneself. They are afraid that their mother-in-law might make their married life hell.
(vi) Finance -
Lack of funds remains a serious problem in front of the youth power in our nation. Many people want to go on an excursion somewhere during the holidays, but they cannot roam around due to lack of money. Some students want to buy good books for their personal library, but they cannot do so due to a lack of sufficient funds. They want to wear a beautiful dress while studying in college and university, but they cannot do so due to a lack of funds. They keep complaining that hands of money are tight. Some even say that they do not have enough pocket money.
(vii) Physical and Psychological Problems -
They may be some common problems in puberty that may be related to the personal or psychological aspect of the personality of the individuals.
For example - Some people feel a lack of self-confidence. They are found complaining that they do not been able to make any clear identity yet. Some young people think that they are not beautiful. Some people start using drugs in their youth, and some become very angry.
(viii) Social Psychological Problems -
In puberty, some individuals face social psychological problems.
For example - Some people feel that they do not get along with their relatives. The complaint is that their partners often turn out to be unfaithful. They keep a great distance from their classmates and feel shy when exposed to strangers. They lose their balance when exposed to members of the opposite sex. They are not able to interact easily with other people.
So these are the problems that are affecting today's youth.
