Kia India launched its all-electric vehicle, the EV6, in the country last week. The Kia EV6 is available in two variant options, GT Line (RWD) and GT Line (AWD). This electric vehicle has been introduced in the country via the CBU route. Mechanically, the Kia EV6 is powered by a 77.4 kWh battery pack. The RWD version produces 223bhp and 350Nm of torque, while the AWD version produces 320.5bhp and 605Nm of torque. Both the variants get an automatic transmission.
Kia introduced the EV6 in India as a CBU (Completely Built Unit) with the plans of selling a limited 100 units in India. But to its surprise, the South Korean carmaker has received more than 355 bookings on the day of its launch alone. And because of this, the company is planning to import additional cars to India.
The base variant of the upcoming Martin, Suzuki Vital Brenda, was spied testing in the country. As expected, the lower variant will miss out on the features such as projector headlamps, dual-tone alloy wheels, dual-tone paint job, roof rails, fog lights, and more. The 2022 Martin, Suzuki Vital Brenda is expected to continue being powered by the existing 5. 4.3 -liters petrol engine.

According to the automaker, Sector remained the top contributor to Kia's overall sales with 7,506 units, while Sonnet and Carnival contributed 5,404 and 355 units, respectively. Launched in mid-February, Cars dispatches stood at 5,754 units, it added.
"Kia India has sold close to 20,000 units, on an average, every month in 2022, and it has been a healthy year for us. The global automotive industry has been facing a tough phase battling supply chain woes since the Covid-19 pandemic started in 2020," Kia India, VP, and Head, Sales & Marketing, Harder Singh Bar said in a statement.
The company has been receiving an overwhelming demand for its vehicles, and it is optimizing production consistently to keep the waiting period in check, he added.
"At Kia India, we believe in evolving ourselves consistently, and hence we are bringing the most hi-tech Kia ever made for our discerning Indian customers. With EV6, we are entering India's EV space, which has shown great potential," Bar noted.
The automaker also recently announced its entry into the EV space and said that it will launch the Kia EV6 in India very soon. With the EV6, Kia India is aiming to offer premium mobility solutions to its Indian customers. Only 100 units of the vehicle will be sold in India, and the booking will start on 26 May 2022, the automaker said.
Kia India held a strong market share of 6.5% in April 2022, which is up 0.9% from the market share during the same period last year, a company release stated.
