Know about Sikka.
E coli mosquitoes
After covid, another virus has been reported in Kerala. So far, 15 cases have been reported in the state, but the health department said there was no cause for concern.
Zika virus is a member of the genus Flavivirus in the family Flaviviridae. The virus is transmitted by E. coli mosquitoes that fly during the day.
It causes a mild fever in humans called syphilis. Since the 1950s, the virus has only been found in a small equatorial region in Africa and Asia. By 2014, the virus had spread to French Polynesia in the Pacific Ocean and then to Easter Island in 2015 to Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean, and South America.
The disease was first diagnosed in 1947 in monkeys in the African country of Uganda. The virus was first discovered in the Americas in 2014.
Vectors
Sika is transmitted by E. coli mosquitoes, which transmit dengue and chikungunya. The disease is transmitted by the bite of mosquitoes such as Aedes, which thrive in hot climates. In winter, the disease does not spread quickly.
In addition to mosquito bites, the disease can be transmitted through sexual contact with a patient and blood donation. The virus can be transmitted from an infected mother to her baby.
Symptoms
Syphilis is characterized by symptoms similar to dengue fever, such as headache, fever, muscle aches, eyelids, red spots on the skin, red eyes, and arthritis. Symptoms usually last 2 to 7 days. The incubation period of the Sika virus is 3 to 14 days. Most people with the Sika virus infection have no symptoms. Deaths are rare.
Do not come to the hospital for inpatient treatment. There is no risk of death. Rest, proper food, and drink are the keys to healing. Diagnosis can be made by examining the infected person's cells and blood.
Babies born to infected mothers have been found to have smaller brains and smaller skulls. The virus has been detected in the amniotic fluid of the infected mother, in the placenta, and the baby's brain.
Defense
No vaccine against the disease has yet been found. Mosquito repellent is currently the only effective way to prevent syphilis. To do this, avoid waterlogging in and around the house.
If you start showing symptoms, seek immediate medical attention without self-medication.
The infection, known as Zika fever or Zika virus disease, often causes no or only mild symptoms, similar to a very mild form of dengue fever. While there is no specific treatment, paracetamol (acetaminophen) and rest may help with the symptoms. As of April 2019, no vaccines have been approved for clinical use; however, several vaccines are currently in clinical trials. Zika can spread from a pregnant woman to her baby. This can result in microcephaly, severe brain malformations, and other congenital disabilities. Zika infections in adults may rarely result in Guillain–Barré syndrome.https://www.google.com/url?
In January 2016, the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued travel guidance on affected countries, including the use of enhanced precautions and guidelines for pregnant women, including considering postponing travel. Other governments or health agencies also issued similar travel warnings. At the same time, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Ecuador, El Salvador, and Jamaica advised women to postpone getting pregnant until more is known about the risks.
