What Is YouTube?
YouTube is a video hosting service owned by Google. It was created by three former PayPal employees, Chad Hurley, Steve Chen, and Jawed Karim in February 2005. The goal was to develop an online video site that could use YouTube's freemium model to promote itself. The company was acquired by Google on November 13, 2006, for US$1.65 billion in stock and an initial payment of US$550 million involving an option to increase this to US$1.65 billion in stock and additional payments based on YouTube's revenue.
YouTube's early headquarters were situated above a pizzeria and Japanese restaurant in San Mateo, California. The early offices of YouTube were located at 1 Hacker Way, which was near Highway 101 in San Mateo City, California. In February 2010 the headquarters relocated to the nearby location at 1 Hacker Way (which would later become one of two campuses). As of 2010 YouTube employed around half a million people, and had grown significantly since 2005; according to Alexa Internet, it is the most visited website on the Internet.
In May 2010 it was reported that Google planned to move all of its employees from its San Francisco headquarters into 11 different buildings across New York City. However,
YouTube allows users to upload, view, rate, share, add to favorites, report and comment on videos, subscribe to other users and other content creators, and it makes use of WebM, H.264/MPEG-4 AVC, and Adobe Flash Video technology to display a wide variety of user-generated and corporate media videos.
Available content includes video clips, TV show clips, music videos, short and documentary films, audio recordings, movie trailers, and other content such as video blogging, short original videos, and educational videos. Most of the content on YouTube has been uploaded by individuals, but media corporations including CBS, the BBC, Vevo, and Hulu offer some of their material via YouTube as part of the YouTube partnership program

How to Make Money from YouTube?
Making money with YouTube is simple once you get the hang of it. You can start by making your videos and uploading them to YouTube, but if you want to go further and earn more money, you'll need to learn about other ways to make money from YouTube. There are several ways that people make money on YouTube, including:
-Sponsorships: Sponsorships are when companies pay creators (such as YouTubers) to use their products in videos or live streams. This helps companies increase brand awareness and reach new customers by having their products used by popular personalities. YouTubers who have sponsored content will have the "sponsored" label at the beginning of their video, which shows that they have been paid by a company to use its product in a video.
-Affiliate Links: Affiliate links are a type of link you can use on any website or blog post where you're recommending another product or service as an affiliate partner. For example, if I were writing about my favorite makeup products here at Makeup Alley, I could link to those products at the end of each post using an affiliate link
