what is Your Business Card

Like the majority of sales people, I visit an enormous number of clients and prospects each month, some find yourself buying some don't, but every single one among them has my identity card. I attend business breakfasts, seminars and other networking event in my hunt for new contacts and ultimately new business, everyone I meet also gets an identity card. One day some years I realized that I not only present an enormous number of cards, but I also receive a good few myself. I made a decision to travel back through a number of the older ones to determine if I could find some new prospects. As I began to sift through them, I started to understand that the majority are literally meaningless in isolation. Unless you're employed for one among the few companies whose name actually reflects what you are doing, you will additionally be writing your signaling on a chunk of paper and forgetting to feature your name. ABC Company Mr Bob Jones General Manager Telephone number Mobile number Fax number Email address Website Without logging on and searching at every single website I've got no idea what the businesses do! Likewise, all those people I had been diligently handing my identity card too had every conceivable method of contacting me, written there in black and white, but no idea what I do! It’s my job as a sales person to “put my face about”, ensure I'm always contactable and remember the maximum amount as I can about all my prospects (perhaps, a bit of help from my CRM). My prospects also are everyone else’s prospects, they are doing not must remember me, then they have a touch help. I realized the answer is straightforward. Compose YOUR BUSINESS CARDS!!! Here’s the scenario: The prospect gets back to the office sooner or later and is told they have a replacement supplier for widgets, it’s his job to search out one. He remembers chatting with some suppliers at the seminar but can’t remember exactly who, so he quickly flips through the cards collected, then, he comes across one, he can’t remember the name or the face to match it, but, in nice clear writing it says “Widgets, budget to high end” Who gets invited sure a meeting? I’m one among those that guard my business cards at meetings. I don’t like meaningless cardboard connections (exchanging business cards without a purpose). Furthermore, I suspend by someone who says, “Hello, my name is…. Here is my card, am I able to have yours?” My suspicion is that I’m visiting placed on someone’s unsolicited mail list. However, by first striking a chord, you’ve accomplished something important in your networking mission — you’ve found a reason to increase the connection beyond the event at which you met. Not all prospects you meet are visiting suit your ideal client (or center of influence) profile. This is often very true on behalf of me, since I've got a highly specialized niche. Focus your attention on those that meet your criteria. Jot notes on the rear of the cardboard (the reason for the solid connection), then you’ll have a conversation point within which to create your relationship at the subsequent meeting or in your correspondence. Follow up quickly after the meeting by sending information you promised
