What is wrong with our educational system in Pakistan.
The role of education and it's importance,have been clearly defined in Islam, our earlier thinkers were aware of problems in both human living and human thinking and also of the intectuall decay. The GreecoRoman civilizations had failed to come up to the contemporary requirements. Islam was the religion that acknowledged the permanency of charnge and left the doors opend for new ideas and concepts.
Islamic culture and education affected the European culture and education in every respect. But now our education which reflected itself in all field of science and culture has become almost obsolete. The entire Muslim world is confronted with the sickness of moral confusion and intellctual an archy, due to the lack of good education.
The good education aims at producing a certain type of person who should know at least one field with thoroughness. He should able to life himself. He should be able o live in the changing world and to develop his life himself. He should have knowledge of past and the future in order to enrich his own personality, these objectives and aims have been mentioned clearly in all educational policies. But sorry to say that these policies have failed to improve condition of our educational system. We have produced a system which is weak at the bottom and top. Education at the primary level is almost purpose less.
The change in our educational system is need of the hour. The change should begin at the grass-root level. Primary educational system must be changed.
A student should be given training in any field relevant to our agro-industrial society at primary and secondary levels. The examination at these levels should be designed on the pattern of competitive examintions.
Our flexible educational system in college an universities has resulted in enormous wastage of money and human material. It should also be over hauled and an assignment method should be adopted.
