What is World Environment Day and Ecosystem Restoration?

World Environment Day is celebrated each year on June 5, across the globe. This year's theme - Ecosystem Restoration - emphasizes the need to take action for enabling recovery and conservation of degrading and fragile ecosystems. If we, as individuals, make simple, environment-friendly changes in our day-to-day lives, we can collectively make a difference to protect and preserve our environment.

Ecosystem Restoration is an intentional activity or process of recovering the degradation such as landscaped, lakes and oceans or we can say that to improve productivity and capacity to meet the needs of society.

The main theme of Ecosystem Restoration is to improve food and water security and control the drastically changes in climate. To protect trees and water from air pollution.
And make a habit of saving natural resources and let the society use a quality of nature to cultivate and reuse the products.

What can you do to make a difference?

1. Do not cut more trees:

Minimize the using of materials that come form trees.  Minimize the cutting of trees and let them grow how much can grow.

2. Try to minimize the use of single-use plastics:

Single-use plastics like disposable plastic spoons, covers and plastic beverage bottles, as they take hundreds of years to decompose, that cause marine pollution and ultimately make their way to our food chain.

3.Reduce or eliminate the use of products that come in Gas or Air cans:

Use of such products including deodorants, spray paints, hair spray etc. is known to damage the ozone layer leading to global warming.

4. Try to close your curtains for all the day during summers:

Scientist proved that air pollution is one of the leading causes of early deaths in developing countries. The use of AC (air conditioners) during summer, which will consume high amount of electricity to run them, increases air pollutants. Keeping your curtains closed will help to keep your room cool without the excessive use of air conditioners.

5. Don't waste water:

Please remember not to waste the water, as in so many places most of people are dying lack of drinking. Don't waste any natural resources.

6. We have to protect Forests:

As we have to protect forests, as these leads more climatic changes and causes pollution.
If we protect them, forests can control unwanted changes in climate, as they can consume the pollution in it.

7. Ensure proper maintenance of your vehicle:

Maintain properly your vehicle and your vehicle's engine and other components will help it to work efficiently and use less fuel effectively.

8. Plant a variety of flowers in your Gardens/Homes:

Bees are vital for the preservation of ecological balance because they promote pollination and protect plant and animal species by facilitating food production. If you are a gardening enthusiast, you can help in maintaining the bee population by planting a variety of flowers in your Homes/Gardens. They play very important role on the planet as we protect them, they protect us from pollution.

9. Consume more organically grown, local produce:

Organic farming is a much more environment friendly option since it may reduce pollution, conserve water, reduce soil erosion, increase soil fertility, and use less energy.

Below are few steps to protect our planet and please follow them.
Let's all of us make our planet a better place for many years to come!
