Empowering women is essential to the health and social development of families, communities and countries. When women are living safe, fulfilled and productive lives, they can reach their full potential. Contributing their skills to the workforce and can raise happier and healthier children.
The empowerment and autonomy of women and the improvement of their political, social, economic and health status is a highly important end in itself. In addition, it is essential for the achievement of sustainable development.
Women's are the backbone of our society, as we can see in every field women are giving her 100%.
WHAT IS THE MAIN ROLE OF A WOMAN IN OUR SOCIETY:-
The woman performs the role of wife, partner, organizer, administrator, director, re-creator, disburses, economist, mother, disciplinarian, teacher, health officer, artist and queen in the family at the same time. Apart from it, woman plays a key role in the socio-economic development of the society and exclusion.
They are participating the same as men in every field.
WHAT IS THE IMPORTANCE OF WOMEN'S EMPOWERMENT IN INDIA:-
[1] Women empowerment is a critical aspect to achieving gender equality, where both men and women have equal power and opportunities for education, healthcare, economic participation and personal development.
While the Scandinavian countries such as Iceland, Sweden, Finland and Norway have made strides in narrowing the gender gap, significant economic and social disparities run deep in the Middle East, South Asia and Africa.
2)India’s journey towards women empowerment has its share of highs and lows. It has made gains by ratifying international conventions and formulating domestic policies intended to end gender inequality. The government has created the space for international agencies to work with state governments, local non-government organizations and private corporations on a plethora of projects to support women from different socio-economic backgrounds. Despite these efforts, India’s ranking on global surveys of gender equality has not improved significantly over the years. However, the women didn’t have any of these rights, even a small right like voting. Things changed when women realized that they, have also the need of equal rights. It spread the awareness that gender shouldn’t be the reason for that things go in their favor.
3) Women will feel safe and secure everywhere they will go. If they have same rights, same dignity they can achieve more and more.
SUMMARY:-
Countries all over the world called themselves, progressive countries, but every one of them has a history of ill-treating the women. Women in these countries had to fight against the systems to get the equal rights and status that they have achieved today. However, in India, women’s empowerment is still lagging. Women should fight for herself, for her rights.
