What is Universe?

Universe, the entire system of matter and energy in the universe, which includes Earth and the human race. The distinctive geometric patterns created by the stars in the night sky are the source of all scientific thinking regarding the nature of the universe. Even prehistoric people must have noticed that the stars did not appear to move in relation to one another except for a daily rotation, which is now understood to be caused by Earth's rotation: The stars seem to be "fixed." Stories were created by early nomads to help them remember the relative positions of the stars in the night sky because they discovered that knowledge of the constellations could help them navigate their travels.
