What is the Solar Storm approaching the world?
The World is in the great face of danger!
A terrible solar storm is coming. As a result, all the Internet communication systems of the whole world may collapse. And it can last for several weeks or even months.
This type of solar storm is called in scientific terms, 'Coronal Mass Ejection (CME)'. Which becomes very dangerous for the entire solar system.
A recent study from the University of California at Irvine in America has given this indication. The research paper has passed the peer review stage and is awaiting publication in an international scientific research journal. The paper was published online on Tuesday.
According to the researchers, the modern world had to bear such a terrible solar storm as the one that is coming this time in 1859 and 1921. In that case, it can be said that after 100 years, the earth is going to face a terrible solar storm again. The devastating solar storm in 1921 caused unprecedented damage to the world. In scientific terms, its name is 'Carrington Effect'. In that solar storm, the giant magnetic field that surrounds the Earth was torn apart. And the highly toxic solar particles and cosmic rays entered the gap. The telegraph wire burst into flames for a long time. The aurora, which is usually seen only at the Earth's poles, was once seen in sub-equatorial Columbia during a powerful solar storm. very brilliantly.
"The chance of such a catastrophic solar storm, or CME, hitting Earth is 1.6 percent to 12 percent per decade," the researchers wrote. This time the world may have to bear the brunt of such a CME. Which is very likely."
Although not as intense as in 1859 and 1921, the CME that hit Earth in March 1989 blacked out the entire Canadian province of Quebec for nine consecutive hours.
The strong magnetic field around the Earth protects us from various types of invaders from the Sun, including solar storms. As the magnetic field is strongest at the poles, most of the incoming solar particles are repelled by the magnetic fields at the poles. Meru Jyoti was born in that conflict. This solar storm reaches all the planets of the solar system, including the Earth. A planet with almost no or very thin magnetic field and no atmosphere has to endure this shock more. Therefore, even if the existence of life is possible at some time, it could not survive there on Mars. There is almost no magnetic field around it. The atmosphere is also very thin.
Lead researcher, University of California, Irvine professor Sangeeta Abdu Jyoti said,
"What is most worrying is that we were completely unprepared for the epidemic and the threat of the same happening in this case. Because, it is still not possible to predict when a terrible solar storm will arise in the Sun's atmosphere (corona). But this much can be said, it will take at least 13 hours for that terrible solar storm to reach the earth.”
According to the research paper, scientists do not have any information about how severe this CME's impact on modern Internet communication systems could be. Because, earlier when (1921) such a terrible CME hit the earth, the internet system was not developed in the world.
The fear of the researchers, this time that the terrible CME is coming towards the earth, all the internet cables going from one continent to another under the sea will be very damaged. Repeaters are placed at intervals of 30 to 90 miles on these internet cables to increase the speed of messages. If the Earth's magnetic field is not normal, they are disturbed. If a repeater is damaged, all internet communication on that line is broken. These undersea cables are not made of fiber like the internet communication cables within the country. So the risk of them getting spoiled increases.
