The world's Tallest Building:
The world's tallest building, Burj Khalifa, was created by Dubai-based Emaar Properties PJSC and is referred to as a "Vertical City" as well as "A Living Wonder." The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat has named the building a "Global Icon," an honor given to tall buildings only once every ten or fifteen years.
Burj Khalifa honors the city with its remarkable combination of art, engineering, and painstaking craftsmanship, rising elegantly from the desert.The 200+ story Burj Khalifa, which is located at a height of 2,716.5 feet, has the most number of habitable floors of any skyscraper in the world, with 160. On January 4, 2010, the tower was officially opened, marking the fourth anniversary of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum's accession as the ruler of Dubai.
The Burj Khalifa, arguably the most renowned address in the world, is the source of several firsts. After excavation began in January 2004, the tower was completed in 1,325 days, making it the tallest man-made building in the world.
A record-breaking 330,000 cubic meters of concrete, 39,000 tonnes of steel reinforcement, 103,000 square meters of glass, and 15,500 square meters of embossed stainless steel were used in the construction of the Burj Khalifa. Building the tower required 22 million man-hours.

On April 27, 2010, the world was introduced to the Armani Hotel Dubai with a ribbon-cutting event led by Mohamed Alabbar, the Chairman of Emaar Properties, and fashion designer Giorgio Armani.

A must-see sight, the At the Top, Burj Khalifa observation decks on levels 148, 125, and 124 provide amazing views of the city and the surrounding emirates.
The interiors of Burj Khalifa and the Emaar Boulevard around it are decorated with more than a thousand works of art by well-known international and Middle Eastern artists. Emaar has expressly commissioned many of the pieces as an homage to the spirit of world harmony.
Burj Khalifa is now a reality, a true living marvel, with the opening of the Armani Hotel Dubai, the handover of residences in Armani Residences, and the owners' move into The Residence and The Corporate Suites.
2011 saw Dubai ring in the New Year with the biggest fireworks display in history, located atop the Burj Khalifa.
The celebration, which also commemorated the first anniversary of the Burj Khalifa's grand opening, attracted attention from a worldwide audience as it celebrated New Year's Eve with a stunning laser, lights, and fireworks show that was seen by over 600,000 attendees and broadcast live to over 2 billion viewers worldwide.
According to the Council on Tall structures and Urban Habitat's (CTBUH) three criteria for tall structures, the Burj Khalifa is ranked highest. The tallest buildings in the world are ranked by the CTBUH according to three criteria: "Height to Architectural Top," "Height to Highest Occupied Floor," and "Height to Tip."
