Pakistan Prime Minister, Imran Khan, said on Sunday that he would not reach a deal with the Opposition leaders who have moved a no­ confidence vote against him in Parliament even if his government collapsed.

     Addressing a huge crowd of supporters of the ruling Pakistan at Islamabad Parade Ground, Mr. khan, who is facing the biggest political crisis of his tenure as several party legislators have also turned against him, said he would continue his fight against white collar corruption.

  This is not Pakistan misfortune. Nations go weak because they do not catch white collar crime and give them  (National Reconciliation Ordinance), said Mr. Khan.

  All this drama is being done to have Imran Khan, surrender like Musharraf. They are trying to blackmail the government.          General Musharraf tried to save his government and gave these thieves NRO, and it resulted in the destruction of Pakistan, said Mr. Khan, according to the newspaper  Dawn.

    Come what may, I will not forgive them even if my government goes or even if I lose my life, he added. Pakistan has been on edge since Opposition parties on March 8 submitted the no confidence motion before the National Assembly Secretariat, alleging that the PTI government was responsible for the economic crisis and the spiral inflation in the country.

  Thousands of supporters of Mr.   Khan, came in trains, public vehicles and private cars to attend the rally. 

    The call for the rally was given by Mr. Khan, as he has been trying to present his fight as one against a group of crooked Opposition leaders. In the speech, he defended the policies of his government, which he said was striving to build an Islamic welfare state.

  The Pakistan Democratic Movement, an alliance of the Opposition parties, will hold a separate, event in Islamabad on Monday, which will coincide with the National Assembly session when the no­ confidence motion is set to be formally moved in the House.

  Another big protest march by Pakistan Muslim League­s vice presidents Maryam cousin Hamza, who is the son of Sharif, started from on Saturday. They are scheduled to reach Islamabad on Monday to attend the Opposition rally. 

      Strong Congress essential for India: Nitin:

  Strong Congress party is needed to prevent regional parties from capturing the Opposition space, Union Minister Nitin has said, while urging Congress leaders to stick to their convictions and remain with their party. 

Speaking at a journalism awards event in Pune on Saturday, the Minister said he was not in the race for the Prime Minister post.

A strong Opposition was a sine qua non for democracy and  a weakened Congress was not desirable as its place would be taken by regional parties, which was not a good sign, he said. Vajpayee lost the election [in the late 1950s] but had still earned [then Congress PM] Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru respect. Hence, in a democracy, the Opposition’s role is very important. I wish with all my heart that the Congress remains strong. Those in the Congress today must stick to their convictions and remain in the Congress.

   They must continue to work and not despair of defeat, said the BJP leader, speaking on the Congress rout in the recent Assembly elections.
