The role of media in strengthening Pakistani society
Abstract
Due to its geostrategic location, Pakistan is frequently drawn into conflicts for reasons beyond its control and will. The pre-and post-9/11 challenges in the region and the conflict in Afghanistan have had an impact both internally and externally. Along with many other risks, the polarization, regression, and militarization of part of Pakistani society have been the most difficult. A thorough understanding of societal concerns and the complexity of media is necessary to make a subjective assessment of the contribution of media to the betterment of society. The media increased due to early 21st-century policies that encouraged media deregulation.
Introduction
Pakistani media has yet to play the expected role in strengthening internal state defenses and beneficial social transformation. One cannot blame the media alone for this failure; rather, it is state policy in this area that needs to be assessed. If one reads the media policies of the state, it appears that the other three pillars of the state have not yet given this fourth and most crucial pillar of the state the attention it needs to be reinforced. Stage in its history. Pakistan's geostrategic location presents both advantages and challenges, but conflicts with its neighbor have had a particularly negative influence on society. Pakistan's border is shared with India, a considerably larger hegemonic neighbor. It has been forced to fight four wars with India since independence due to the unresolved Kashmir issue. Since the Russian invasion, Pakistan has taken in more than 3 million Afghan refugees. After 9/11, Pakistan again joined the front lines of the global war on terror. Pakistan played a crucial and vital role in the ousting of the Soviet Union from Afghanistan (GOVT).
Explanation of the problem
The purpose of this study is to investigate how the media can change societies in general and Pakistani society in particular. The study looks at how the media can help Pakistani society develop. What are its flaws, and how can they be corrected? Should state regulations for the media be changed so that they can support the advancement of society?
Literature review
John Ehrenberg's 1999 book, Civil society: The Critical History of an Idea[1], offers a new perspective on how contemporary society has developed.
Pakistani Society, written by Iqbal Chaudhry in 1984, and Pakistani Society - Islam, ethnicity, and leadership in South Asia, written by Akbar S. Ahmed[3], both published in 1988, explain the factors that shape society Pakistani society on all scales, from individual to national. They also discuss the many societal issues facing Pakistani society. These two books provide a general overview of Pakistani society, although they do not deal with the influence of the media on society.
Perspectives on cultural and commercial aspects of new media technology
John V. has devoted his career to doing a thorough investigation into the social, economic, and cultural effects that new media have on society. The book does not just focus on systematic and analytical forms of technology, not only for what they are, but also on how they affect people's way of life, employment, and communication. However, because the book focuses mostly on new media schemes and characteristics and the communication sector, it simply adds to our understanding of the technological growth of media. It does not address the problems addressed in this study.
Methodology
The investigation was conducted using an analytical and descriptive methodology. The goal has been to incorporate all pertinent and important facets of media, society, and their effects. Books, journals, and newspapers from domestic and international media that cover a variety of aspects of the topic serve as the study's primary sources.
