The Andy Griffith Show Season 4 DVD Review
Andy Griffith's program, one of the most popular TV series of its time, is enjoyed by people of all ages. The show revolves around the realm of Sheriff Andy Griffith of Mayberry. But the star of the actual series is Deputy Barney Fife (Don Knotts), who plays the talented, always demented sidekick. The magic of the curtain between Griffith and Knotts is something to behold. Both men continued their high-profile careers in Hollywood, where the Knotts starred in Griffith's popular Matlock series, such as Mr. Furley's role in The Three Company.
The Andy Griffith Show (Season 4) DVD features several comedy episodes, including the first season of the play "Opie the Birdman," in which Opie is the stepfather to several orphans after unknowingly killing her mother with her slingshot. Developing a personal relationship with the birds, Opie battles the idea that when they grow up they will have to set themselves free… Other notable episodes include “Barney's Cart,” where Barney finds his motorcycle at a local auction, but his everyday jokes take over all of Mayberry. in hand and “Gomer Pyle, USMC” where Gomer Pyle joins the Marine Corps to become a man but fails miserably until Andy convinces his piercing coach to take Gomer under his wing. Andy Taylor is the widowed sheriff of the sleepy little town of Mayberry, North Carolina. Andy and his son Opie live with Aunt Bee, who takes care of the family. Andy's sidekick is his clumsy but neurotically hilarious cousin, Barney Fife. Among Andy's Mayberry friends is Floyd, the town's resident barber.
